Once again OHIO leads the league in conference attendance.
There were some real pitiful numbers this past weekend ie EM, AK just to name a few.
Ohio was #1 again Saturday , another number north of 20,000.

The only one I was surprised about was 11,000 at BSU for NIU.  That should've been a much bigger draw.

Can we please get rid of EMU already?

I am willing to bet that the akron number might just be a little inflated. They didn't have that much at their opener(despite what they say) so I doubt they had that yesterday either.

boot EMU, move Toledo to the MAC East and move UMass and Buffalo to the West. Rename the conferences so thhe 6 schools Inside Ohio(IO) will be in the IO Division and the 6 schools in the Other Half(OH) of the MAC will be in the OH Division.

New incentive- If you buy a season ticket for your favorite Ohio MAC school you can present your season pass at any of the other 5 MAC schools when your team plays there and get in free of charge.

It's the opposite of Conference Realignment- instead of trying to spread the conference out for TV markets you contract the conference to increase game day attendance from the fans of the visiting team. Wouldn't MAC games be more fun if you knew 10K fans from the other team were going to show up and tailgate and help fill up Peden?

It would, but these teams can't even draw 10K to a home game. When is the last time any MAC team brought more than a handfull (200-300) of fans to Peden? The largest visiting team crowds I can remember are...
- Marshall
- Norfolk State
- Wofford
- Gardner-Webb
- Wyoming

That's a pretty sad commentary on the MAC when 3 FCS schools and a mid-major school halfway across the country bring more fans.

I wish MAC schools traveled, but none of them do. At all. Never have, likely never will.

How about MAC season ticket holders get in free and get a buy one  get one  free...  I bet that would draw some people.

In my observation Iowa State was #2 to Marshall in bringing visiting fans.  They had an all out effort to get alumni from the region to that game.  It looked like every ISU grad in a 150 mile radius was there.

The noon start time I thought hurt attendance this week. Ohio draws a lot better when the games are played during the evenings. With the exception of homecoming and parents weekend the school should be playing all of its games at 7pm.

Agreed, forgot about that one (Knorr will do that to you!)

But, my point remains...the only schools that have ever traveled to Peden are OOC and FCS opponents. The MAC schools bring absolutely no one!

I'll bet Ohio fans come close to accounting for 50% of the fans at Miami and Kent this year. With our alumni base being spread all over the state and our team being so successful, there is not one good reason we can't be a fan base that travels like Marshall did when they were in the MAC. Marshall used to intimidate teams in their own stadiums. We have had large, loud crowds at Penn State and Marshall this year. For those that do not go to road games, you are really missing out.

Kent is over Thanksgiving break too, so all our NEO students can make that easier than normal.

Agree - 2 of the most fun OHIO experiences I have ever had - were not in Athens but at those two games!

A Buffalo fan who came over to the student side to sit with his grandson said Buffalo gives all their season ticket holders free tickets to any two MAC away games they want.

Considering how far away they are from anybody else in the conference, I doubt many take them up on the offer.

Miami is Family Weekend in Oxford so they will probably have a decent home crowd

Buffalo to Akron/Kent wouldn't be terrible, but I do agree.

Except your destination is akron/kent! hahaha, I kill me, but seriously, UB should only make their season ticket holders pay for the first 3 home games. Then, for each of the final home games you go to, you get reimbursed for one of the tickets you've paid for. I've been to several late season games there (well, October), and when the wind gets whistling through that place it gets COLD.

Don't have all of the numbers for this week because some are still in progress, but Eastern Michigan delivers again with an attendance of 2,837 for their 52-47 barn burner loss.

And watching the webcast, 2,000 of those people were UT fans.
