Sounds to me like you owe some belated laps for being wrong then.
It's the same chant as the conversion into the Diamond OHIO during pregame... So unless you predate 1967, I'm having a hard time believing that you said O at the end of that.
Mid 80s actually. And as I said, I never had a lesson on the matter, and did, in fact, say "O," so I'll accept the laps. Maybe I'm just stubborn, but I don't really see the significance between the two. Most of the crowd can't really distinguish the difference in sound, and either one represents us.
Plus, I can imagine how people will respond if a group of "cheer police" begin trying to make people say Ohio instead of O. The whole thing comes off a bit ridiculous, don't you think?
