Anybody think that they'll replace the time originally given to the 110 with a performance from that woman who sang the national anthem for the 2011 basketball game? (don't know if she's performed at other events, that game is the only time I've traveled to Oxford) If so, I wouldn't be surprised, given Miami's standard of music (which equals their standard of everything else..)

Oh damn, I remember that...that poor woman.

I doubt if anyone there that night will forget that woman. They really should have stopped her.Hopefully her family and friends steered her toward other interest,

Very disappointing.

Visiting bands usually get a few mins at halftime, right?  I remember that we did at Buffalo last year.  What about Marshall this year?  I was there but I can't even remember if they marched at halftime.

In 2009, we had Kent State's band perform at halftime, which I remember the crowd being appreciative of, and didn't we also have Toledo's band in 2010?

Yessir. Although recently, when visiting bands come to Peden it does not bode well for our football boys.  Both times the 'Cats lost close bouts.

Was also at that game - it was a less than stellar performance. But, it was Charlie Coles daughter - so she gets a pass from me.

This was a simple decision based on what I know, and it had nothing to do with money.

The 110 almost always will not travel unless they get to perform at halftime. Miami did not want to accomodate, which is a shame. But I can't say I blame them.

Would you want your band shown up in your own stadium if you had the choice? Luckily, where we come from, we don't EVER have to worry about it.
Yeah, I think what has people scratching their heads was the announcent less than a week prior that the 110 would be in attendance.

Correct.  You would think that would have been part of a discussion at the beginning of trying to work this out.  I would love to know the details.
