Until we know more about them, the only thing we do know is that they gave $77 million to get a football coach fired. That money would have helped a lot of people who need it badly.

Exactly. People always draw the line just above their wealth and lifestyle for what is acceptable.
People do it just as much below their wealth line too. "how dare that person use food stamps to buy name brand cereal!!??"
I see the point, except in one scenario the spending is funded by the individual and the other is funded by the taxpayer. Individuals can and should question the fiscal responsibility of any funds secured by means of taxation.
