WVU (as well as others, I'm sure) has a formation that gets 2 backs into their pistol look, though I don't remember the name. Basically, they have the traditional QB/tail back arrangement and add another back off to the QB's side. I think this would be an interesting wrinkle to work into the game, especially given our talented group of runningbacks. Obviously this isn't the point in the season to try to work out entirely new sets, but its on my wish list for next year

I wonder if Frank will add in some new Offensive plays to take advantage of the BG blitzing D line, like screens, TT running more, more runs to the outside, more misdirection plays etc.

Coach said in interview that they are fast.  Best to go with his strength, let the best MAC OL tee off, negate their speed.  Might not be cute or for high avg per, but, if they can generate 1st downs, get to the red zone, play for good field position it will work out.

I think given what LC posted and what you guys have said about BG's speed, Ohio matches up well this week.  Big backs and a tough OL are just what's needed to move the ball against the Falcons, it sounds like -- Ohio has that plus a solid passing attack to keep the D honest.

Who was it at the end of the game last week, Daz who made that spectacular TD run?  That was some amazing balance.

I checked the stats from last year's game and Tettleton was the leading rusher with 23 carries for 128 yards. As I recall, anything to the outside got big yards. And if I think back to 2010, that was the game that Bates was running wild on jet sweeps. Maybe due to injury, coaching or self-preservation, Tettleton has been reluctant to run the ball this year (on target for about half the carries of a year ago). This might be the game where he's going to have to make some plays on the run game if he is healthy enough to do so.

I'm inclined along the same lines as most of the other posts:
1. When you have a quick, aggressive defense, the QB is going to have to take off to make them pay for it. This will be very important.
2. You're going to need a fair amount of power runs
3. The runs will have to be quick hits - not a lot of lateral action
4. You're going to need some screens and quick passes, and perhaps shovel passes
5. It would also help to go over the top at times, but since they are going to be coming hard, you'll need to be quick - perhaps some fade passes would be effective
6. Reverses may or may not be effective - Since they have penetration, you could have a disaster, but if they over-pursue, you could get a huge play. The same goes for trick plays off reverses.

I think OU matches up well, because they are good at all of the above. It will be interesting to see how the Coaches play it. I got a good laugh when, in the press conference they asked Solich how he planned to attack the BG defense, and he laughed and said "I'm not going to tell you that".

Dru Archer brings Kent much versatility.  I'd like to see Daz, be used in similar situations to see if he can approach the results of Archer.  No reason at this point of the season that Daz shouldn't have 4-5 touches on the offensive set per game to add a wrinkle.

Normally, I post from about 2700 miles away.  But I am not normal now; I am in Cleveland, ready to come down for some time in Athens and the BIGGAME later today.  Excited.  Nice to feel the crisp, cold fall OHIO air.

I like that fake sweep left, roll TT back right for a TD to Cochran play.

GO BOBCATS!

Is there any particular place that bobcatattackers will gather pre-game tomorrow?

Excited to make the trip from Cincinnati for this one. I can survive on little sleep for Thursday with a Bobcats win tonight.

The thing I saw last week that has been missing for a long time was TT bursting from the pocket and picking up 1st downs.  I heard the complaints that this is born out of broken plays but that's the beauty of it.  When TT brings that ability and "mindset" there are no broken plays.  Keeps the D honest and the offense on the field.  TT's mobility is huge advantage OHIO.  As much as his injury hurt us during those down weeks, this will boost us when we need it most.  The fact that he has proven he can see downfield and throw while on the run puts a huge amount of pressure on the defense.   TT's finally back and I'm looking for an offensive explosion again this week.

OU 38 BG 27 and not that close.

The line has dropped to -1.5 essentially a pick-em game as you predicted LC.

Well you called the opening line right, so its a wash. Let's hope this prediction is right, too. I predict Ohio wins 33-20.

Gents (and any ladies),
I'm in CLE and my cable has been out of commission since the storm last week. Cable company hasn't been able to get out and fix it since my power came back on.

Anyone know the best free way to watch online? Guessing there are things like the old Channelsurfing.net that I'm unaware of...

Any help is appreciated! Thx!

Watch out for viruses and adware from that site, as it is a pirated video site. I note that EPSN3 is blacked out, so I guess i won't get to see this one.

Beautiful drive. I really liked the fake audible/trick-quick-snap. And the vintage Read-option keep by TT for the TD. AND Vick's being on the field. I think something good is going to come from him being lined up wide.

I hope we continue to run the ball with our RB's. We went away from it that second drive and it hurt us. Tettleton won't get much on the ground from running plays called for him. He will get most of his rushing yards off of broken pass plays.

We've got to improve our punt game.  Either this punter is not comfortable back there and takes too long, or our blocking is porous.  Been happening all season.

Terrible tackling on that 3rd and 5 run for a TD.  5 or 6 missed tackles.  Not good.

I agree on Daz.  Gotta get him more touches.
