I opened this thread expecting to see some play on words but now I see that this question is being taken seriously.

This is not a serious question, is it?  Please clarify.  Since when did one mistake invalidate every other thing one has accomplished?

This is not a Bill Buckner scenario and we aren't in Boston. Your own people should never be treated like that (this).

We have a couple big things going on with TT right now.  First off the coaching staff and he do not seem to be on the same page, at least not on game days.  Secondly his decision making has regressed as the season has progressed.  I mean how can you make the same mistake at the end of the half when you cost us a game by doing the same thing.  My older brother called me last night sarcastically telling me he saw an amazing play in the NFL game last night, a QB actually getting rid of the ball when there was nothing open so his team could kick a FG.  All of this has added up to what looks like me to be just frustration and mental exhaustion at this point.  His head is not in it right at this moment, he was taken out of the game because Solich couldn't rely on him anymore to be a positive influence.  I kind of doubt this will be fixed by the Kent game since I don't see things going well for us in that game by a uber motivated Kent team.  But I really hope all of this can get taken care of and put to bed by next year so that we can come out swinging again and actually keep it going all year.

Really? Undefeated, ranked, on the road at your hated rival when the game shouldn't have been close.

You do the one thing that you couldn't afford to do (which wouldn't have been difficult to avoid) and the team settles into a comfortable slide down the mountain of dreams.

It wasn't the world series, but we don't play in the world series - we play in the MAC and were ranked in the BCS for the first time ever.

So when your ace kicker eventually misses a game tying or game winning kick or a RB fumbles a ball at an inopportune time you put him on notice that he's lost his hold on his position?  With everything else going on with this team now, what we don't need is a bunch of starters looking over their shoulders at the guys behind them after one mistake.  (Not that there are that many left back there; most of them are on the field.)

And in the case of the M&^%$$ debacle, I guess we're giving the OC and coaches a free pass for not kicking that FG  to get to OT when it was available to them?

Even great kickers miss field goals.

Great quarterbacks don't take sacks with no timeouts, down by 3, on the 3 yard line with 11 second to play.

The point was also made earlier that everyone should always be competing for their jobs - and no where did I say he should lose his job. I said that type of thing would bring up these questions and then I voiced my disagreement with trying to make light of the situation.

I also am surprised that this is being taken seriously. My answer is this - TT is a good QB, and has a good demeanor for a QB, plus he is a proven winner. He can, and most of the time has, gotten the job done. That said, I think that all the hype got to him a little, and he started to believe it. If he started to believe in TT the Unitas candidate, the potential All-American, the Heisman candidate, etc, to name some of the hype, then when he failed to live up to that, no one would have taken it harder than him.

The answer is clear. He needs to go back to being himself. Quit worrying about the hype. Quit worrying about what fans, and others think of him. Play ball like he knows how, and for the fun of it.  Quit trying to carry the team on his back. Give his best, and let that be enough. Then we'll have the old TT back, and yes, it will be more than enough.

In the meantime, there is no reason to pile on. That doesn't help anything.
