I was going to start a new thread on him, but I'll just say it here:

Whether or not you like/hate Kent State, you have to appreciate how great Dri Archer is. He's the most explosive player the MAC has seen in a long time.

Ohio is going to have a tough time slowing him down.

Love the Cats, but it could be a Brutal Friday.

Only thing we have going for us is Blankenship and Weller, and that Kent State has already clinched the East with today's impressive win AT BG.

But Kent's program and players bring it 100% every game this year and I imagine it's Senior Day, so we could get crushed.

If we play with fire, we could keep it close or even win.

If we play with little emotion and don't execute like the last few weeks, it will be worse than Ball State game.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

I hope we win, of course.  But immediately more important that the W or L is that I want to see us play with gusto.

kents is good.  But we can play with them.  Absolutely.

Damnit! I was hoping for a little later of a start (so I could sleep in until dawn before getting in the car)

All things considered, I could care less whether we win or lose in comparison to HOW we play (I still want that dubya dang it!)  Do we play with fire?  Dignity?  Aggression?  Or do we feel sorry for ourselves and go in the tank when we face adversity?

This is going to sound like the "everybody gets a trophy" type post, but I want us to play our asses off every second and come together as a team.  If Kent has too many horses for us to keep up with, there are some things you have no control over.

GO OHIO!  BEAT KENT!

I just want to see an attitude by the Cats. Kent beat us 2 years ago up there. We were flat and did not play with any desire. Of course we went on to get rolled out of the dome by Troy. We cannot have a repeat of that.

I can't resist comparing the two teams and wonder who on our squad would start for Kent right now given the injuries. I do not get past one hand.

We will need some strong emotion to pull this one out. I just hope we at least bring that to the game. Would be a nice finish to knock Kent out of the Top 25.

I think it helped Ohio somewhat that Kent State already clinched the MAC East, so this game isn't a make-or-break game for Kent anymore.  Ohio has a chance in this game, but only if Kent overlooks us and is thinking about the MACC against NIU on the 30th instead.  I'm not saying Kent will overlook Ohio, just that it's a possibility (and more or less Ohio's only hope-no way we can even hope to stop Dri Archer).

On an unrelated note, is anyone else surprised that BGSU was only able to draw 16,000 fans to their game against KSU?  It's the biggest game of the season, played on a beautiful, sunny, near 60 degree day in mid-November and 16,000 is the best BGSU can do?

Whoa, that is some super defeatist stuff there Mark!  C'mon now, let's give the Bobcats a fair shake here.  Ohio and Kent both played BGSU pretty even (Ohio actually had a bigger stat advantage -- EDIT: not sure it was much bigger though, yards were pretty even in both games, but Ohio had a big advantage in 1st downs -- over BGSU than Kent did).  If it hadn't been for breakdowns in a couple of specific areas that have been fine earlier in the year, Ohio could have beaten BGSU as well.

So I think Ohio can definitely play with Kent and beat them, even if Kent brings their best game.  Ohio hasn't played great football for several weeks, but if they do, they'll win on Friday.

How many bobcatattackers thought that Stanford could slow down Oregon - let alone win?

Kent State has 9 wins against FBS teams, the 7 teams we beat after Penn State have 9 wins against FBS teams combined. We still have unfinished business, we need to show that we ARE one of the best teams in the MAC.

What kind of alternate universe have I slipped in to where I'm hoping the Bobcats can beat the Flashes for a moral victory?

Here is a terrible dilemma.  An 11:00 a.m. EST kickoff means that the game will be on here in Texas at 10:00 a.m.  Now, do I do the decent thing and wait until halftime to start drinking or just say the hell with it and start the day with a screwdriver or two just to get in the mood?

I predicted that this game would be a loss before the season began primarily because I thought that it would be the Bobcats who would be resting their starters in anticipation of the MACC game.  Now the situation is completely the opposite.  I want to see the Bobcats come out loaded for bear on Friday because they have something to prove; that is, they don't stink anywhere near as bad as they have the past couple of games and can go toe to toe with anybody, even with a depleted defense.

I hope they come out with an attitude and put it to the Flushes.

Yes I'm super defeatist-I've been a Browns fan all my life, so being a defeatist is in my blood and comes as easy to me as breathing!  :)

Seriously though, sure Ohio has a chance.  But I've seen nothing from Ohio in the last 5 weeks that says that they will rise to the occasion this time.  I hope I'm wrong, but in looking at Kent and Ohio, I see one team that's on an absolute mission and another team that's on life support.

That being said, maybe we can start some crazy "Darrell Hazzell's leaving for Tennessee" rumors this week and get Kent demoralized!

Can you say Mimosa or Bloody Mary.   Both are too fancy for my taste.  Guess it will come down to some Irish coffee (hold the coffee) for me....

That's weird,  I heard the same thing this morning.   I heard they want him there to coach against Kentucky since he's already played them this year.......

That's what I was thinking so while it's not THE #UnfinishedBusiness everyone was hopeful for at the start of the season, it's at least some #UnfinishedBusiness.

A 9-3 regular season is still a really, really good season with the possibility of 10 wins with a bowl.  Without scouring the media guide, I don't believe Ohio's had much more than a dozen or so seasons with a 75% winning percentage and 5 or so 9+ win seasons.
