We lost our 2 starting CB's before the first ball was even put on a tee to start the season. We lost 2 starting DLinemen on the same play last nite and they weren't even involved in tackling the ball carrier. Their going off together in the back of that Gator kind of says it all about this year.

We started out with great hope and hype and were picked as the dreaded "IT" team of the MAC. Then injuries multiplied faster than the medical staff could handle them. Throw into the mix some curious clock management, a heady QB that loses track of time-outs, a punt unit that becomes a National Punchline and you have the makings of a team that really just needs to get this season over with and start the process again next year.

Truth be told our MAC play has been less than stellar from UMass on. I attribute the majority of it to injuries but for what-ever reason the whole thing seems to have been out of "sync" once our conference play started.

What a bunch of lemming's!!!  This program has not been good enough, for long enough, for this type of reaction.  Some on here feel like they are a better judge of talent than the coaching staff?  What a joke!!!  Injuries has and have decimated this team all season if any observation has been made at all.  NAIA players?  Yes, we will have depth like an Alabama.................LOL.  Come on man!

cats28. So well said.  Glad to see another fan who has the team's back.

The season from Miami on has nothing to do with injuries it has to do with attitude...and it starts with Tettleton.  We have a veteran QB that should be rounding up the troops and motivating them to play above their ability...but instead he himself seems highly unmotivated and is playing well below his ability.  I'm tired of seeing him sulking on and off the field and throwing his hands up to the sideline everytime he gets sacked.  If he's tired of being sacked all the time, maybe he shouldn't curl up in the fetal position everytime someone lays a figer on him (or when an offensive linement bumps into him).  There is no hope for improvement in these next two games unless Tettleton has a major attitude adjustment.  And if he can't get it together in the Kent game, he should not be playing in the bowl game...put in Vick, or anyone who will bring some energy to the game.

Even after the Miami loss I was thinking we could make a season of it and bounce back and finish as MAC Champions, bowl winners, and have just one loss.  Then we would be going into the next year with a senior QB and just think of the possiblities of next year...beating Louisville and making another run at the BCS.  Now I find myself looking at the recruiting pages and trying to figure out who the next quarterback will be.  I'm so over Tettleton...I just hope he can prove me wrong these next two games.

I seriously think much of this is focus and concentration.  We do not seem prepared for what we are getting in games.  Then, there is the question of execution.  Have we had this many obvious blown coverages in years past?  How many guys have taken themselves out of plays by over running or not filling the correct gap?

As for the physical aspects, when is the last time we dominated a team that tried to run the ball against us?  And then there is the o-line sacks the last 4 games.  We are NOT a physical team at all.

There is something really wrong here and the coaches better figure it out real quick or Kent will put 70 up on us!

I read this forum alot but really never post much, and I regret that one of my only posts is negative.  But, I can't hold back as I read the comments about Tettleton.  I'm sure he's a great guy but on the field, he comes across as a pouty, whining, brat.  I can deal with some of his physical limitations but it's the mental aspect that allows those with less skill to compete at a high level.  I live in California so I can only watch games on TV and unfortunately, the cameras pickup all of Tettleton's sulking and defeated antics.  It's embarrassing to him and to the school.  He needs to pull up his socks and start leading this team because it's apparent to me that his behavior and attitude have spread through the team like cancer.

I think part of the problem is that the team set it's sights high, and started to believe its own press. Sometimes when that happens, things crash hard, and they certainly have. That said, at 8-3, they still have a good season going, and they can still save it. Will they regroup to beat Kent, or win a bowl? We'll have to wait and see.

After Penn State (or even before) this team had really high goals. Then when the injuries kept piling up it can really affect you mentally. Afterall we are talking about 18-20 year old kids. You can just see how defeated this team was after they watched Jones & Huynh get CARTED off the field, it was just too much.

It would have taken a tremendous coaching effort just to keep them focused. So I don't blame Solich for the lack of effort because it was more of a total team mental breakdown due to high pressure of team expectations, those expectations failing and the mental stress of seeing player after player getting hurt. It was just too much.

Sometimes, it just wasn't meant to be. You just have to hope that going through such trials will mold these players into something special in the coming years.

No aggression, no energy, no fire. Captain QB on the sideline after no apparent injury. Getting absolutely rolled by the other team's running game. Lots of fundamental breakdowns. We look like we're just going through the motions, waiting for the clock to hit triple zeroes.

I am officially worried about the program.

I'd yank some guys scholarships. Not sure if it's possible but some have no business being on the field with their effort.

Yes they have. Its not completely their fault, but i think they have lost the team.  Has nothing to do with injuries, If you've paid attention closely over the last 4 or 5 years injuries have always come up and been a factor with the Bobcats year in and year out. I remember when Torn Laybrums spread through the team like a virus. and yes the play calling has been atrocious and that plays into it as well.  As fans we are sitting back thinking and commenting on how conservative the play calling is and why is it 2 and 12 in the fourth quarter and running a QB draw with our back up QB, now imagine being a Player and dealing with this drive after drive and game after game.  What kind of fire and motivation would that give you? knowing no matter how much work you put into practice or what new plays are drawn up that the same conservative pass plays are going to be called? But even the play calling isnt the main reason why they've lost the team. The team has been lost because of the Senior leadership. Your team is only as good as your senior leadership and watching the games, with the loss of Carrie, there is none.  Those seniors are the bridge of communication between the coaches and the team. Name one senior that you see leading this team with performance, as well as vocally and being that ambassador for the coaches, cause from what im watching week in and week out I dont see that at all and that is what is killing this team. They miss the Carrie's, Kellers, Turner's, etc to carry this team through the setbacks.

Calling Peden the "Wrigley Field of College Footballl" may go down as one of the worst sports marketing ideas ever.

Maybe kents held back heir stuff and/or was not at all motivated today.  But I was not very impressed with them.  We could easily have won today's game.

If we played like OHIO instead of how we did play.
