Anyone have any idea about single game and season ticket sales since the Penn State game? Might give a little insight on demand for seats long term....

I know we reached record season ticket sales before the Penn State game, so I'm sure it's higher. now. Will be interesting to see how the next few games stack up with NMSU attendance. With the $30 ticket price next week, I'm sure it will be more challenging to bring in the casual, local fan.

Record season ticket sales came from the $4.50 family pack ticket sales. No wonder the political parties put out the stuff they do. People believe it.

People of our "ilk" will believe anything I guess. But not the enlightened like you Alan. Still waiting for my "ilk" to be defined.

Is it safe to say you have no background in finance/economics/accounting??? Budgeting, P&L, etc.?

Remember when life was good?   When we had dreams of stadium expansions, instead of nightmares about missed tackles, our whole team being carted off the field on stretchers, and ugly ugly ugly football....  This isn't the end, unless you want to believe so.  It just blows my mind how badly things have changed.

It could be worse. Akron built an entire stadium based on their fantastic dreams of having a good football program. They couldn't even beat the UMass team that we barely squeaked past.

And they couldn't do it at HOME.

I'd be happy if they just gave the place a paint job and did a little bit of concrete patching.  Seeing re-bar showing where concrete has broke off is terrible.

I like the idea of adding dorm space such as at the convo (and Ohio Stadium at that other school) to make it an easier sell.  The tower was built based on the reasoning that it would serve academic as well as athletic purposes.  I'm also sure that attendance will go up even more if we avoid so many mid-week TV games.  The exposure is great -- except for the empty stands and the quality of football we have played on ESPN this year.

The lower ramps of the front entrance to the Convo look like they haven't been swept, blown or, God forbid, hosed down in at least five years. Filthy.  How hard is that?  No expense to it.

How about repainting the walls in the Rohr Room and hallway?  Ostensibly, the people who see the dirty walls are folks who give money to the university. Wouldn't you want to spend $80 for a couple of gallons of paint?

Uhhh, have you been to the Rohr Room this year? The ironic thing is that it was re-painted...new TV too!

Agree on the entrance ramps. Feel like I should bring my wading boots just to walk through there.

Yon expense? You obviously have no idea how the University does business, and facilities and grounds are at 40% of the force they were 5 years ago. Heck they can't even get the grass cut in the summer.

Funny to see this thread now. We are quite the moody bunch. Start out 7-0 and we're Big 10 bound and building a 70,000 seat stadium. Drop a few games and we're cleaning house and dropping to 1-AA. Take a deep breath - we'll be OK!!

this isn't about losing games it is about the facilities not being maintained. If something isn't done the stadium will resemble welcome stadium in dayton soon. God help us if we ever get to rubber bowl status.

I never saw anyone suggest we grow to 70,000 or join the Big 10.  I also haven't seen anyone suggest we drop to 1-AA.

I still think we need to be discussing stadium expansion. 30,000 would be nice.  Peden at least needs renovations..

The countdown to when they'll be purchasing giant tarps to cover up the second deck of that white elephant has begun.

I'll bring my gas blower, mop, scrub brush and even a hose.  Do you think they will provide a water hookup?  Should take me 45 minutes, max.

Frankly, I'm embarrassed to have anyone walk into the Convo with me because of the filth down there.

I agree with you, but the realaitity of the situation is that the University has slashed those jobs and eliminated OT for most all these workers, and simply cannot take care of the campus appearance.  It is sad to see the place deteriorate.

Bingo...it would be great to see alums and students take pride in their facilities and work together to get things a little more shiny. I am sure the university would be ok with this. Great spring project idea!

I like the idea, but would this be grounds for a grievance under Facilities' collective bargaining agreement?

If we don't want to give up the "Wrigley field" of Peden, then expand by making it a complete circle and renovate the complete damn stadium. With this new football indoor facility, add more stands that connect the student side with the strength center and add stands on the north end. That would easily increase capacity past 30,000.
