It's great we have a winnable bowl game and I'm glad the seniors get another game, but I'm really bummed about the location. Could have done DC. Shreveport, La. Not so much.

Not to be crying in my beer, but I would have rather went to D.C.  I will not be going to Shreveport.  would have gone to D.C.  If we had a shot at D.C. and chose Shreveport instead, I am dissapointed.

Um, they started Arkansas's skid and almost beat Auburn and Baylor in 3 of the most exciting games of the year. Had a couple of series against Baylor where they had 2 QB's in the backfield, one taking plays to the left, one taking plays to the right. Going to be a VERY tough game.

Same here! Going from being worried about not going bowling at all to worrying about the WarHawk's offense. Talk about 1st world problems!

Hopefully we can get our injury situation and last season funk under control and make it a good game with you guys...one that we'd ideally win of course. I LOVED the dual QB sets you guys were running in the Baylor game. Very exciting team you've got there.

If anyone can find a decent flight in the Ohio, Kentucky or Indy Airports. Please share. I will do the same. Not as bad as getting to Boise but not cheap either. Jeeezzzz.....

BTW....not saying they aren't tough so stop with that nonsense. I am saying we have nothing to gain nationally by beating a team that isn't a household name. I watched the Arkansas Game. All respect to them.

If the team that played the last 3-4 games of this year shows up, this will be a repeat of the Troy Game.

Selfishly I am happy about this.  Puts the bowl game just a few hours away from my home in Houston.

Anyone who is looking for an excuse to fly down may be enticed by the fact that the basketball teams plays @Oklahoma the very next day about 5 hours from Shreveport.  I may turn the road trip into a double header!

Is flying to Dallas or Houston and driving over a reasonable option?  Flights look to be a bit expensive for this overpaid school teacher (John Kasich humor intended).  I like the idea of going somewhere totally different and off the beaten path a bit.

If memory serves correctly, the Warhawks had similar injury issues in the back half of the season that we did, so it may be two teams mirroring one another.

How impractical is flying to Dallas and then driving over?

So if it's true that Ball State is in the Beef O'Brady's, Ohio is in the Independence and Northern Illinois is in the Orange, then does that mean Central Michigan is going to a bowl to fill the MAC"s contracts?

The bitterness by these ESPN Chumps really shows some true colors. Herbsteit and Howard started it yesterday and these clowns are just repeating the same. Suck it Palmer! All he talks about is the "eye test." Please.

The "eye test" is what the press and coaches poll have lived on for decades. Play the game!

Yeah that drive is very doable, from DFW airport you are about 3 hours from Shreveport and a tad less than that to Norman.

With the bowl kicking off at 1pm, you could head back to Dallas after the game and then head to Norman the day after for bball in the evening.  This schedule is very doable and anyone coming out for the bowl game should be going to the hoops game too.

Agreed.  There's nothing sacrosanct about any of the BCS bowls, except for the money and the so-called prestige that those who have a vested interest in them have placed on them.  It's basically a cartel of a handful of bowl operators who want to dominate the market.  The Fiesta has been around only since 1971, and didn't have a tie-in until the 1990s.  There are a bunch of bowls older and with as prestige as that one -- Sun, Gator, Capital One, Liberty and Eat Mor Chikin.  Ohio's been to two of them -- Sun and Capital One (fka Tangerine).

And the arses at ESPN ought to realize that they'll have to deal with this every year when the new system kicks in.  Under the current plan, the highest ranked "Group of Five" team gets in the playoff.  Let's see Herbie's cow then.

Not the playoff, but one of the "access" bowls (think the current non-championship BCS games)
