The MAC had a fantastic year, it's a shame we can't get any respect at all.   Hopefully we'll earn some, not that any of them will care, and repeat our bowl success from last year as a conference.

If I were NIU I'd play this segment night and day wherever the team may congregate from now to Jan 1.  These guys are the biggest bunch of AQ chauvinists I've ever heard.  Is there somebody in Nashville who can light a bagful of cow manure on Herbie's porch and ring the doorbell?

Wow.....here's a paraphrase of Herbie....."I like the MAC but NIU and Kent State suck."

He's such a tool....glad he moved outta Ohio.

Get over it, talking heads.  There is a series of criteria set by the BCS that they met.  It takes a ton to meet them all and they just so happened to.

They may get murdered, but they met the criteria set forth. No amount of bitching changes that.

He out and out lied. Said Iowa was the worst team in the Big 10. They didn't even finish last in their division.

Then completely avoided the question surrounding Wisconsin and Louisville.

Apparently, America will be crushed not seeing #11 Oklahoma in a BCS Bowl. I don't remember their outrage when #7 Boise St. didn't get an invite last year.

The worst bit of non-analysis and one-side stat citing that I've ever seen.  Why not hate on Louisville with their weak schedule?  NIU beat Kent which beat Rutgers of the BE. Rutgers was almost in a BCS Bowl themselves.  All of this reminds me of the chatter before Miami (OH) beat Florida in the Tangerine Bowl back in the day.  The UF players thought they just had to show up to win; however, the Redskins held their top rusher to something like a -5 yards for the whole game.  I never saw a defense stop so many running plays in the backfield.  Hopefully, history will repeat itself.

And Georgia Tech wouldn't have been deserving either if they happened to win last night.

LOL Herbie. You want to know who made the rule that only two teams from a conference make it? I tell you who...every other BCS conference that isn't the BCS.

David Pollock says it will definitely be a higher point spread come kick off......the disrespect is unbelievable.   Would absolutely love to see them win this game.

NIU getting in a BCS bowl is like the caddies getting to swim in Bushwood's pool. I wish them well in dropping Baby Ruths all over FSU and the Judge Smailsesque MAC haters in the media.

You know, nobody from ESPN complained two years ago when UConn won the Big Least, even though they were 8-4.  They're not concerned about the "integrity" of the BCS as they are about not having a nice, comfortable game with an Okla or a Johnny Football.  They're afraid nobody'll watch.  But they're likely to get better ratings with NIU.  Certainly better ratings than the Okla-UConn game that year, which Okla won by 28 pts.
