Welcome! As I said on another thread, I'm excited by this game. You guys had a great season and some of the most exciting games of the year in the Arkansas, Auburn, and Baylor games. I loved some of the dual-QB work you were doing in the Baylor game.

Hopefully we can overcome our injuries/last season funk and make it a fun exciting game for you guys (one which I of course hope we win)

Excited to head back to Louisiana (New Orleans 2 years ago) and I am sure it will be a good time down there! Excited to meet some of your fans, and good luck to your team!

Hey Bobcats, Very excited to be playing you guys in the Independence Bowl. Looking forward to a great game. For those of you making the trip to Shreveport, we hope that you have a spectacular visit (well, expect for the final score of the game of course). I think you will find that Shreveport is a great city to visit for a bowl and there are some great eatin joints over there. Again...so excited to have this game against y'all.

this is the "Back in September these 2 teams looked like they would run the table" bowl. Got to see ULM in a couple of those early games and they looked really tough. Warhawks is one of my favorite team names.

looking forward to a good game.

Funny, that's pretty much what I thought when I watched y'all take out Penn State. Didn't get to see you guys play too much, but what I saw I like.

I remember watching the Auburn game thinking "these #%#$ are going to bump us out of the BCS!" its funny how a season turns out sometimes.

These are two quality teams, should be a great match up.

Another user from ULM here. Happy to end up playing y'all in the upcoming weeks, should be a fun game. I saw someone else mention injuries on here, and I assure you that we're in the same boat. If I started our list of injuries I'd probably have to end it with "and a partridge in a pear tree". It's been a rough season for us injury wise. On the positive side, we're here and in a bowl game. Looking forward to it!

Only 12 injuries? Sure would be nice. Really a battle of the "next year" teams. What a great experience for the players starting this game.

Welcome to all the Louisiana-Monroe fans on here.  Like everyone else, I'm looking forward to getting acquainted with you folks.

Re:  our games vs. the Sun Belt.  We hosted Louisiana-Lafayette in Athens a few years ago and won, a few years after we defeated them on their home turf.  We won at North Texas a couple of years back.  However, Troy shredded us in the New Orleans Bowl a couple of years ago.

Any chance members of the Duck Dynasty gang will be in attendance?

Big fan of those guys!

Isn't the patriarch of the business a ULM grad?

Here's another Warhawk fan chiming in. I've been a ULM fan for the last 15 years and it feels good to mark "winning season" and "bowl bid" off the to do list in the same year. I'm glad we have an opponent with a lot of similarities to us (mid-major, white hot start to the season, injuries and late season difficulties).  It should make for a great game.

I would like to thank Ohio U for accepting the bid first and foremost.  We are happy that you are excited to play in this bowl game unlike a certain other team who declined to play us. I saw the Penn State game and thought that you would be the team to beat in the Mac.  That being said the injury bug hit both teams at the wrong time and cost both of us some games.  I can't way to play a quality team that I think is a very equal match up.  We look forward to the game.  Do you have any idea how many fans might come to the game ?  I expect a very large crowd for ULM at this game.

Another warhawk from warhawk nation. The duck dynasty boys might be there. Willie attended ULM and did the coin toss at the Baylor game. How many fans did you travel to NOLA?

Our following was pretty small, but the students did well.  The university gave an offer for students (and a guest of students) that was $40.00 for a bus ride to and from New Orleans, hotel bill, and game ticket.  Total.

I remember hearing about this deal for students and thought it was major cool!  Hope you can do something like that again.  Anyway, from another Warhawk fan, I'm really looking forward to this game and agree we seem to be well matched.  "IndianL" comes from our former mascot name ("Indians") but I'm "all In" -- Coach Todd Berry's team/fan motto.  I work some long hours (thus, posting in the middle of the night) so I don't know how much I'll write, but I WILL be at the game.

May I make one respectful suggestion, and request:  we prefer to be called ULM (or Warhawks) and even moreso we don't like  "Louisiana-Monroe".   That's all I ask, except let's have a great game in Shreveport!  I look forward to meeting as many of y'all who make the trip.

Here is a little 411 on OUr team for the ULM friends/visitors.  We are basically a very small/slow/over-weight bunch of white guys with not a shred of athletic ability.  OUr schedule was basically against the Sisters of the Blind, the School for the Quadrapeligic and Athens Middle School.  We play in a bush-league conference (just ask ESPN) and quite frankly I do not know how we qualified for a bowl game.  Most of OUr team was passed over by a lot of D-III schools.  So don't take us seriously as apparently the MAC is a farce of a football conference (again according to ESPN).

And don't forget scout gave them all 2 stars....our coach was fired after a 9-3 season.....and The Burrito Buggy is the best place to eat in town.

Hey that game against Sisters was a lot closer than the score... i mean they scored 3 touchdowns on themselves.

Thankfully we are playing Warhawks and not Beavers.....apparently Beavers are Ninjas..right Si?

I say we have an injury battle between these 2 fan bases.  We each name our most damaging injury and the credentials of that player and the hurt of losing them, then 2nd most, and so on...And decide round by round who wins.  Just need an impartial judge.

I vaguely recall making a bus trip to NOLA as a student to watch a bowl game, but someone else will need to give the specifics.
