That's Ohio State vs. all other institutions of higher learning in this state (including Big East Cincinnati.)

Hey now.......I bought my UC shirt at JC Penney thank you very much!

I bought a couple of Ohio t-shirts at Elder Beerman a few years ago.  Maybe the beer man had something to do with it.  Anyway, they weren't the same quality as you find on campus.

Sounds like we get a few back.......Scott on the d-line......Herman and Johnson on the o-line.....all could play.....that's huge.

Speaking of huge....340 pound Mike Lucas is runnin at starting RG so he must not have any problems with the law dogs.

Also great in hearing that Dietz and McQueen are getting some reps on the o-line....good players for sure:

Independance Bowl #9. Credit to KingGeorge 4 on the find.

http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/story/21376411/ranking-the-bowls-only-one-matters-heres-a-case-for-all-35

9. Independence (Ohio vs. Louisiana-Monroe): You're asking yourself right now why this game is in the top 10. Both teams won eight games. The Warhawks had a better SEC winning percentage (.500) than six SEC teams. The Bobcats won their first seven games, including beating Penn State. Kolton Browning and Tyler Tettleton are worth the price of admission -- yes, that's right.

Of course in TT's case it's the Penn State TT and not the post Fiami TT.

Hey, I watched Nevada put up 48 on Arizona in bowl game with fake fun from pistol for td, and--on one play--fake run, rake receiver screen and throw long for completion (td to 15 yards wide open receiver).  What do injuries have to do with not running such plays?

5 seconds to go before halftime for Ute State vs. Toledo in Famous Taters Bowl.  Ute has no timeouts and is at Toledo 5 yard line.  Did Ute State run a play so they could get sacked and not get off field goal attempt?  No, just kicked field goal, taking the sure points into the half.  Why would we have run 'take sack, run out of time' play there?

1. Because we had more like 9 seconds, not 5.
2. Because our OL collapsed, which was not predicted.
3. Because our QB did not throw the ball away when he was hurried, which was not predicted.
4. Possibly because our WRs did not get open, which was not predicted.

How many times did this happen to us this year?  Hey, maybe it would be wise to take account of the possible?  (9 seconds was a given.  OL collapse/other side's pass rush was VERY foreseeable.  qb not reacting--bad, but foreseeable, espec after the first time.  WR's not getting open--foreseeable for sure so just throw it away.

I mean, really, were the allowed results acceptable to you?  (hint:  who won almost everyone of the key 12 critical states?)  At some point there is accountability, there is being held responsible for very foreseeable consequences.

Now, I'm going to go look in on the hoops threads.  Gotta be some serious melt-downage going on there.

I didn't claim the outcome was acceptable. But there's a difference in scenarios between our game and the Utah State/Toledo game. Not apples to apples.

Interesting, in your football world, your tendency is to attack the man at the top no matter what the circumstances. In "other" things, not so much.

If you have a time out it was a good call with no time outs and no Tom Brady or Peyton Manning I kick the game tying field goal 100% of the time. It ruined the season and I really don't care whether it was on the road or at home because it happened because it was a bad call.

Would have been a perfectly good call had it been executed as designed. If Tettleton would have thrown the ball within the first second like he was supposed to, there would have been no problem.

Okay....but don't we have to judge what actually happened...not what would've happened.

We had several plays of 'should have thrown it away' or 'should have just taken the fg.'  Also, this coach staff and team has for years shown a really remarkably poor sense of time management.

Monroe, you are right we have to judge what has actually happened.  You can focus on a play or two, however, the big picture is that the coaches and players have, in 2012, produced the winningest senior class in Ohio history. That is what actually happened.  What " this coach staff and team has for years shown" is the best football Ohio has ever seen. You are not seeing the forest for a few trees.  Sure wish you could be the group that felt that was something.  Starting to feel a little sad for you.

I get that.  But this year should have been better so far.  Shoulda beat redhawk and BG---at least one of the four losses should have been a W, without asking for miraculous play and coaching.

So, yeah, I get it.  Good work over the last 4-5 years.  But it's also reasonable to ask for reasonable expectations to be met.  Else, it's all howdy-doody and whatever we get is okay!  Sorry; we've had some underperformance this year and it is fair that this be recognized.

I was at the BG game (our last home game).  Ask TT (not the qb) what he felt about our performance.  At halftime I walked over to him and I think that it's fair to say that he agreed with my assessment that we were playing UNACCEPTABLY terribly.

I'm not asking for perfection.  I'm asking for reasonable fulfillment of our potential.

Hoops was terrific last year.  Most of those players are back.  Is anyone accepting yesterday's Winthrop because the seniors have a pretty good history to date.

You never seem to get that the other team might deserve some credit.  If they do well it can never be because of their outstanding effort, but, because of some play or two you can blame Ohio for which you find unacceptable.  Woody/OSU lost to Northwestern in 71, Bear/Alabama should not have lost to Ol Miss in 76, etc.  It is football and yes I get it you have 20/20 .....

I apologize to you if losing four of the last five by a combined score of 129-67 excluding EMU does not leave me breathless.

Monroe, 2012 did not end up like anyone hoped.  The team that was favored to win the MAC showed, at Penn State, that they were as good as advertised.  Great credit to the players and coaches.  Unfortunately monthes later, against the toughest teams, the team that beat Penn State was not available.  The best efforts of everyone available just could not accomplish what they or the fans hoped for.  Still, the highs (beat Penn State, winningest seniors in Ohio history, 9th rated bowl) are higher than ever and the lows (8-4, no conf championship) are higher too. Puts Ohio in the same boat as; Texas, Michigan and Penn State and better than so many others.  Again, I wish you could apreciate what it means to be successfull. It is to contend every year, not win every game, championship or bowl.  So many players are rehabilitating from injury that I have begun to care less and less about wins and more that they can recover their health.

Yea, "coulda, shoulda, woulda". I think we all get your frustration. Nevertheless, at the end of the day, we're in a pretty good bowl game. So why not enjoy it and save the post mortem for January?

I'm sure the coaches and players share your frustration. I'm sure they'll go through a significant amount of self analysis after the bowl game. I refuse to kick sand on this team knowing that if they find a way to pull out a win, this will end up being a pretty successful year.

When I went to OU in the 1970's I don't think we won 9 games in all four years. And the only bowl I knew was a soup bowl from Nelson Commons.

I don't think Solich is the kind of coach that's going to take this year's loses lightly. Everyone in the MAC is competing for great players so the competition is tough, but Solich will work hard to improve the squad and hopefully get the most out of the palyers he brings in.

So I'm going down to Sheveport and enjoying the bowl experience!

The fan guide lists 17 individual records from Ohio's bowl games, and 12 are performances from either the Tangerine or the Sun Bowl.  The ones I'd like to see fall this year are:

Rushing attempts.  Dave LeVeck carried the ball 20 times in 1968.  Beau should get it at 25 times.
Rushing yards.  LeVeck ran for 85 in 1968.  We need Beau to get 100+.
Rushing TDs.  LeVeck and Cleve Bryant each had one in 1968 (this was tied last year by T2).  We need to have somebody get more than one rushing TD in a bowl game.
Passing TDs.  Cleve had four in the Tangerine.  I'd like to see T2 get at least five.  If we have five passing and two rushing TDs, that would be 49 pts and we should win.
