Ugh...I'm watching the Bengals-Jets game. The Bengals broadcast team did a short, in-game piece on local players on the Jets roster. I guess Julian Posey transferred to Ohio State after the fall.

I saw the same thing... And I had to wonder near the end of the game when they put up a graphic for Julian, showing height/weight/etc, and college:OHIO, and showed #32 on screen, if that was because someone called in to note the discrepancy... Although that #32 on screen at the time was a different guy wearing that jersey and not Posey. Ah well, that wasn't the worst thing about the game :(

I think we should just go with the story that Jesse Owens transferred to Ohio!

And wasn't it damn nice of O$U to name their track stadium after a Bobcat.

I watched on my computer but I never saw him play. Did he play at all?

Have we heard any news with Terrence McCrae on the Steelers?  I've tried checking the Steelers website and the only mention was from the first preseason game.

Still listed on the roster, so I guess keep an eye out for him in tomorrow's game.

From Chuck Finder through CBS Sports under rapid updates:

REEEEAALLLLy crowded situation at WR.
He has a good chance at Practice Squad, though.
We’ll find out more Saturday: If he plays (in second half) and does well, he’s may well be a near-cinch for PS. (provided no other team picks him up on waivers)

I sent him an email today asking about Terrance.  He updates the Steeler section.

Aug. 28, 2011 7:13 p.m. - by Greg Bedard - Getting to 53 - Patriots roster prediction: WRs
In: (6) Wes Welker, Chad Ochocinco, Deion Branch, Taylor Price, Julian Edelman, Matthew Slater. Out: Brandon Tate, Darnell Jenkins, Jeremy Ross, Buddy Farnham, Tyree Barnes. Analysis: The Patriots could keep seven here, with Tate being the other guy, because the top three players are essentially in the final year of their contract. But on production alone, the oft-injured Tate doesn’t deserve a spot. While he’s the team’s only stretch-the-field player, the Patriots have better players at other positions. Patriots RapidReports

Aug. 28, 2011 1:56 p.m. - by Craig Morgan - Getting to 53 - Cardinals roster prediction: DBs
In (9): Adrian Wilson, Kerry Rhodes, A.J. Jefferson, Patrick Peterson, Greg Toler, Michael Adams, Rashad Johnson, Hamza Abdullah, Richard Marshall. Out: Matt Ware, Thad Turner, Tommy Irvin, Jared Campbell, Bryant Nnabuife, Marshay Green. Analysis: Peterson will win the starting job at some point, but he’s still learning and coach Ken Whisenhunt doesn’t like starting rookies anyway. Wilson’s biceps tear casts a cloud over this whole unit. If he’s healthy and ready to play in Week 1, the secondary could be a strength. If not, Johnson is a significant drop-off from Wilson and the unit could suffer as a result. Cardinals RapidReports

Aug. 28, 2011 1:07 p.m. - by Chuck Finder - Getting to 53 - Steelers roster prediction: WRs
In: (6) Hines Ward, Mike Wallace, Emmanuel Sanders, Antonio Brown, Jerricho Cotchery, Arnaz Battle. Out: Tyler Grisham, Wes Lyons, Terrence McCrae, Kenneth Moore, Armand Robinson, Eric Greenwood. Analysis: The mid-camp signing of ex-Jet Cotchery shut the door to the WRs’ meeting room. However, Sanders’ three foot surgeries since the Super Bowl may scratch him from the Baltimore opener. Might they massage the roster for one week by, say, keeping on Grisham after two practice-squad years? Nah. Some WR will make the practice squad; hometowners McRae or Lyons could secure that this week. Steelers RapidReports

No mention of Parsons:

Aug. 28, 2011 11:31 p.m. - by Larry Holder - Getting to 53 - Saints roster prediction: DBs
In (10): Jabari Greer, Tracy Porter, Malcolm Jenkins, Roman Harper, Patrick Robinson, Leigh Torrence, Jonathon Amaya, Chris Reis, Johnny Patrick, Pierson Prioleau. Out: Isa Abdul-Quddus, Quincy Butler, Terrail Lambert, Trumaine McBride, DeAndre McDaniel, Paul Oliver. Analysis: Greer, Porter and Robinson have been playing a decent bit together during nickel situations. It should tell you how much defensive coordinator Gregg Williams wants to have his three best CBs in the game at once as Porter has moved to the nickel slot at times. Robinson has been much improved this camp from his rookie season. Torrence has been pretty solid during this year’s camp to remain on the roster. Patrick has been injured throughout much of camp and may end up on IR, which could open up a spot for McBride. Jenkins and Harper are no brainers at safety. The rest of the group will consist of special teams guys like Amaya, Reis and Prioleau. Saints RapidReports

Aug. 28, 2011 7:08 p.m. - by Greg Bedard - Getting to 53 - Patriots roster prediction: DL
In (10): Andre Carter, Vince Wilfork, Albert Haynesworth, Shaun Ellis, Eric Moore, Jermaine Cunningham, Mike Wright, Myron Pryor, Kyle Love, Gerard Warren. Out: Ron Brace (PUP), Brandon Deaderick (PUP), Kade Weston, Landon Cohen, Darryl Richard, Mark Anderson, Alex Silvestro, Markell Carter, Clay Nurse. Analysis: Expect the Patriots to be active on the trade front here because they are stacked along the defensive line. Cohen and Richard should be able to bring a late-round pick in return. Anderson flashed early in camp, but with so many top bodies returning to practice, he doesn’t really fit anymore. Warren could go if the Patriots need numbers elsewhere. Pryor and Love are too valuable as younger players to get rid of. Patriots RapidReports

Yeah after attending the Steelers game and not seeing McCrae take the field I figured his best bet was the Practice Squad.  Unfortunately for him I noticed in the Steeler's second unit is a really tall receiver with whom he is probably been competing with for that jump ball guy spot.
