Bob Kravitz of the
Indy Star says it was weed, and calls for LaVon to be cut. Seems a bit harsh, especially since he recommends keeping a player who's facing a weapons charge, among other things, until the wheels of justice grind out.
The article suggests this is the 2nd drug test failure for Lavon. He probably should be cut. Instead of busting his ass to make it in the NFL he takes the approach of I can smoke weed and beat the system. Not an intelligent decision on his part. Sorry Lavon but the law applies to everyone. Getting caught once I can accept. But a 2nd time suggests you're not thinking.
Guess it was his 2nd ...
The law says, in most states, that possession of marijuana is a crime. Thus, the NFL bans its use and regularly tests its players from April to August. If a players gets a positive test, there's what amounts to a warning. If you get another positive test, it's a four game suspension. If you get a third, it's an entire year.
Three strikes. Boom. Boom. Boom.
Knowing this, it makes Colts wide receiver LaVon Brazill's stupidity all the more unforgivable. Brazill was suspended recently for the first four games of the 2013 regular season for violating the league's substance abuse policy. In league circles, it's widely known that if a player gets a four-game penalty, he likely got it because of a second positive pot test.
Totally STUPID!!
