Archer hurt on Flashes' first possession and will not return. BG's defense still looks solid, still don't have a QB.

Two of the top MAC teams trailing at home vs 1AA schools -- Kent (w/o Archer) behind 10-7 to Liberty in the 3rd; BSU down to Ill. St 21-9 toward halftime.  Whoda thunk it.

Johnson showing some energy at QB for BGSUcks.

The dreams of an upset at UCF have quickly met reality for Akron.

Johnson seems very high risk/high reward for BG. Definitely has talent. Definitely makes some poor decisions. I haven't been impressed with either Tulsa or BG.

Matt Johnson at BG is impressing me so far. High ceiling there, it seems, if he can develop the right way and keep learning the game and speed at D-I.

did schilz get hurt? wasn't he just named the 3rd best passing qb in the conf by elton a?

How serious is archer's injury? Kent and Balls better grab these games or this will be embarrassing.

Schilz was yanked, not hurt. Did not look good in the first 2 drives at all.

Archer's injury is an ankle, according to the ABJ.  Don't know how serious.

Tulsa's fake punt from inside their 15 reminded me of our fake in the O$U game in '99.  Fooled nobody.  And it just led to BG's second TD.

Maybe Bowling Green sees this game as a revenge game for the shellacking they took from Tulsa a couple of years ago in the then GMAC Bowl.

Is BG in session?  For a home opener, their attendance seems sparse.

BG's east stands are maybe 2/3 full, but the west stands, where the students are looks almost completely full.

Ohio alum Craig Sandlin is working hard to increase student attendance at BG:

Everything about that fake punt was bad. #1 the right call is to punt. #2 if you're going to go for it don't do it out of the punt formation. #3 if you fake the punt, make sure your punter knows he only needs a yard and doesn't need to go outside.

Tulsa's QB is throwing high on almost every pass. Really not impressed by what is supposedly the best team in CUSA.

Ball St. rips off 42 unanswered points. BG taking Tulsa to the woodshed. Tulsa was picked to win C-USA West.

BG looks very good tonight. Unfortunately, I can't tell if they're just that good or if Tulsa is that bad.

I'm glad that ball state and kent state recovered from their deficits to take care of business.

3-1 after first night...  Better enjoy it while we can.

But was impressed by Bowling Green, especially defensively.  Hopefully the rest of the MAC can surprise and impress as well.

BG looks legit, Ball State looked alright after the first half, and Kent State looked like a 3-9 team without Archer. Hope he gets back on the field ASAP. He's good for the MAC.

They have BGSUcks at home, and LSU and Penn St on the road the next three weeks.  It could get ugly without Archer.

As I said, 3-9 without him... lol

BG was scary physical tonight IMO. Tulsa was predicted to be Conf USA West champs. Looked like the Hurricane wanted to blow out of Northwest Ohio about 15 minutes into that game.
If all goes well Tuesday Nov. 12 could be a big night.

Oh my gosh... Tulsa looks like they had not practiced together since last year.  Isnt this the team that was picked to finish at the top of C-USA??    I'm still not sold on the BG team yet... Like our game against them last year, the point spread was a result of some gifts from the other team....  In this case it was, fumble inside the 10, failed fake punt, fumbled put inside the 15, and a punt return for a TD.

I need another game to decide if BG is as good as predicted....

Is Archer the difference onthat team or has Kent State taken a step back this year?  I did not see any of the game..

Any feedback or thoughts on the game would be welcomed.

I wasn't really impressed with Kent, especially their defense.  I did see a few things I lied.  Durham was what I expected.  The WR who missed all of last year (Goode) looked pretty good too.  I thought Kent's QB looked pretty good running the ball.  They didn't really open up the play book to see how well he passes though.  I wonder if they tried to get by with a limited play book to save something for BG?

As for Archer, he was being worked on the sidelines in the first half, then came out after half time in sweat pants and a walking boot.  Hope it's just precautionary.

I didn't watch the Kent game but tried to follow along on my computer as well as possible. Looking at the stats, Kent dominated (361 yards to 222; 39 minutes TOP to 21), but was hurt by penalties. Losing Archer hurt, but they just couldn't capitalize.

I am with you on BG. Needs a larger sample size before we can tell how good they are. The D looked as advertised, but I am not sold on the offense yet. Tulsa did not look good on either side of the ball.

Incredible moment for WMU against Michigan State - redshirt freshman Zach Terrell comes in on 3rd and 10 and throws a perfect 14 yard touchdown pass in his first collegiate snap.

Didn't see the game, but I was surprised that Buffalo scored 20 today.  Six came from a Mack INT, so their offense only had 13.

Watching the Syracuse-Penn St game; ABC/ESPN just recapped Penn St's 2012 season and one of the first clips was Landon Smith grabbing the tip and sprinting for the end zone.  Sweet.
