Marshall has a good team, and it was a hard-fought game, but Marshall made too many mistakes. They will have a good year this year, and end up with a very good record. As for Ohio, they continue to improve, and they still have a lot to work on.

Is it too much to show some class? We don't win without 4 TO's by Marshall. Cato is damn good. I'll celebrate but Marshall gave us all we wanted. We have a lot of work to do yet. Our ground game was non-existent. Take away Vick's yards and we average 1 yard per carry.

Agree.  But their fans lack of respect for the Bobcats needs to be put in face.

LC,

Agree 100%. Most impressive to me tonight were Vick and Waters.

Well, I for one was whining earlier in the week about how bad we were going to lose this game.  I'm quite happy to be wrong.  Is it our fault that T'erd pulled a Linda Lovelace and choked on the big one?

The thing is:  Most Bobcat fans, to the best of my knowledge, aren't gloating arses.  And, we realize that we could have lost that game tonight.  But most stupd cow fans gloated beforehand and will make all kinds of excuses for the outcome.

They are a decent team.  We are a little better and will be a really good team at the end of the year if we keep playing.

Can not give even a little respect to a Ohio which outcoached and battled through four tough quarters of football?  Shame!!!!

we also don't win if we turn it over once. We also lose if don't play disciplined and capitalize on their mistakes.  But we didn't and we did.

All the talk of the over under of Cato throwing 5 TD passes and all the records he was going to set tonight, I think they deserve some humble pie.

Devin Bass played an outstanding game on the defensive side of the ball!

One poster on the board was somewhat negative on Waters last year. I wonder if he's changed his mind?

Troy Hill had a lot of catches early, too. And, what about Devin Bass, who played a lot tonight, and Cato went after him?

i think he was going at Bass mostly to go away from Carrie. Glad Devin stepped up tonight.

Cato may not have thrown for 5 TD's but his passing yardage alone exceeded our total yardage. We have plenty to work on and need more OL guys healthy if we want to establish a running game.

May have gone after Bass since I think he had a few interference calls last week. That said, I think he's gonna be a player over the next 2+ years. Hill had a great start tonight. Not sure if he even had any catches coming into tonight's game.

their mistakes also gave us short fields which exaggerated the yardage disparity.  Agreed we have plenty to work on.

Turnovers aren't always mistakes.  Terd's first two fumbles were forced by good defensive plays.  Give our D some credit for those.

And I agree with Holliday that yardage doesn't mean that much -- what counts is keeping your offense flowing.  We didn't have as much yardage because we had better field position by getting three TOs in Terd territory -- so we started with a short field -- while Terd started inside their 5 at least twice.  We also had a special teams TD that gave us 7 pts with no offensive yds.  I'll take that kind of stuff over +150 total yds most any day.  But what we had was a drive in the second half that kept Cato on the sidelines for 8:30.  We also had a defensive secondary that, except for two or three plays, stayed with their man.  We also had pretty much a total team effort.  And we cut way down on the penalties this week.  There are things to work on -- doesn't anybody listen to John Madden that a prevent defense only prevents a win? -- but I feel pretty good about where we are right now.

As for the prevent defense, I know I've seen it a lot, and while I can't recall any times it worked, I'm sure there must have been at least one.

No need to gloat. Watching that kickoff snafu over and over again is enough indulgence for me. It's a comedy gift that I'll treasure for uears.

That play should easily make the bottom 10

I'm not Dick LeBeau or anything, but it's my opinion that Marshall may want to work on defending the slant.

Sorry, but you reap what you sow.   Some teams and fanbases deserve to be shown a modicum of respect, not  Marshall.  As for the "well, if it weren't for the 4 turnovers we wouldn't have beaten them", are you kidding me?

I guess Fedale can change his signature to Ohio is 3-0 since 2010.  Where are all those Marshall guys?  There is plenty of crow for all.
