I decided to take a look at Herd Nation message board and noticed they already have a predict the score thread so I figured we might as well get one started on here. Most of their fans are predicting a huge blowout. You can tell by the excitement over there that this is their "Super Bowl". :)

Here is my pick:

Ohio 34
Marshall 28

Your little 12-4 vs OU tag is cute. What's the all time record? Simply including certain span of years to benefit your is team is kind of cheap.

I predict essentially a 7-on-7 passing drill. First to 40 wins.

With the offense we've shown, not sure we will uphold our end of the shoot out.

You notice I didn't predict a score. I didn't want to post what I think the score will be.

Thanks... I had figured a gap of almost 30 years was recent enough to matter. But I guess if you wanna crack into the early 1900's then sure... thump your chest all you want.

Ummm, you just did.

In any case, under Solich, Ohio is 2-2 against Marshall, with three of four being decided by 4 points of less. I think this will be another close one. I call it Ohio 34, Marshall 31.

If the weather cooperates I'm predicting the largest crowd ever recorded in Peden.  I just wish it started at 7 rather than 8.

I'm predicting that Cato plays lights out as he badly wants a win against us after the last two years and breaks a school record in passing.  Meanwhile Frank realizes the weight this game has for the program and its fans so he opens the flood gates and we play like we did in our bowl game last year and Marshall two years ago.  It will be high octane peddle to the metal type play all game long but I think we pull out with an insane Peden crowd full of Bobcat faithful.

B&B both have record setting numbers in total yards and rushing TDs.

You obviously don't know much about Marshall passing records.  LOL @ 38 points.  Hell, he threw 5 TDS against lil' Miami.

Marshall has improved its defense and is much more physical than they were last year. The offense hasn't skipped a beat and Catos arm is stronger. I think Marshall controls the line of scrimmage and wears down the defensive front of Ohio. Sophomores Kevin Grooms and Steward Butler have big nights on the ground.

I have serious concern about Marshall dominating us on both the O-Line and D-Line.  OHIO must be able to run the ball (More Boykin?) and pressure Cato if they are going to in.  I just don't see it in this one.

I think Ohio's secondary is in much better shape now that it was vs. Marshall last season.  Unfortunately Marshall appears to have a decent rushing attack this year, they won't come out one-dimensional throwing 65 times like last season.  Marshall is going to score points, even if Ohio's D plays well.

For some reason the oddsmakers seem to be giving no respect to home field.  It's Marshall first road game this year.  I think in a down-to-the-wire shoot-out that makes the difference.  Ohio wins in OT 41-38.  Green goes 2-2 on FGs including the game winner.

and you obviously don't know much about Marshall passing records vs Ohio. The amount of points they score in other games have no relevance.

Here's Marshall's points per each game last year-

59

52
44
41
38

34
31
24- v Ohio

and in 2011

59
34
28
26
24
23

17
17
13
10
7- v Ohio

only UCF has held the Herd to less points the past 2 seasons.

Almost 30, why not 40? whats the matter, 12-10 not sexy enough for you? I'm thinking about updating my signature to this-

OHIO has not lost to Marshall in over 100 years*

* except for about 19 different times that don't count

Fedale has you boys fired up.

i think the Herd gets off to a slow start in their first road game.  The score at the half will be 14-21 in favor of the Kittens.  The Herd's superior conditioning pays off in the second half and the kitten defense wears down after defending 100+ plays.

Cato throws 4 TDs in a 35-21 victory for the Herd.

Herd is 1-0 versus Ohio in bowl games

Because we barely had a football team in the 70s.

You beat up on football program that was recovering for the worst sports related tragedy in American history.  We lost more football games in the 70s than any football program in the entire country.  You can count those 6 wins if you really want to.

stupd cow has to be favored at this point...and, of course, is (see vegas).

I spent time watching OUr lines vs. NTexas.  I think there was development, espec by our middle three on offense.

It will be tough to get a W on Saturday but as others have said:  this OHIO team will get better every week.
