I know this is the football page but I thought this may be of interest to Ohio fans. I am sure Marshall Volleyball is more talented, has more resources and is probably looking past the Bobcats. I only hope the Cats keep it close tomorrow with the superior Herd. I am guessing Landon will consider anything less than 3-0 victory by the Herd to be unacceptable!

Exactly where did Marshall posters or Landon make any comments on volleyball?

Yes, the victories over Oregon, Cincinnati and Virginia as well as the #24 national ranking mean nothing.  If the Ohio Bobcats beat Marshall, it will be totally unacceptable.

It's how Landon feels about OU in general. In his mind Ohio University as a whole is not in par with Marshall.

BTW, I am being sarcastic.  Sorry you think that equates with me having no class.

Mid70'sBobcat.  Where have you been the last week, in a 1971 time-warp with Chuck Landon!?

Galli-Cat was being , funny, sarcastic, facetious even!!! His post was a parody on the laughable comments that Chuck Landon has been making all week in the Huntington Herald Dispatch.

Hi Gallia-Cat.  Not sure who you are but that shi! was funny!!!

Go Bobcats!

OUr young ladies just defeated in Game 1 previously 8-1 Maryland in straight sets just seconds ago.  So now they aren't just 9-1 but 9-1 with wins over 3 or 4 ranked opponents and the loss to a highly ranked North Carolina team.  These women are good.  They deserve our support.  I may have to go to a game this year.

I love watching college volleyball. It just so happens that a young lady I work with played for the Bobcats! She was a member of the team that made it to the sweet 16 and lost to Arizona in 5.

Allyson Rauch.  She played high school volleyball in the Toledo and now lives in the Columbus area now.

Nice. I drove down 71 on December ice to watch them sweep Ohio State in the round of 32. One of my favorite sporting memories.

Well the #24 Ohio volleyball team won its volleyball "Superbowl" by defeating the ultra-talented, hard hitting Marshall volleyball team 3-1  (25-19, 25-20, 20-25, 25-17).  From what I could gather from looking over the stats and in particular the ERROR  stat,  Marshall simply gave the game away despite having superior athletes, facilities and resources.   The coaching was also questionable as were several calls that appeared to go against the Herd.

I just stepped out on my back porch at my southern Gallia county home  to allow the dogs out and I heard the faintist of sounds coming from just south towards Huntington and it seemed to be a voice screaming "UNACCEPTABLE, UNACCEPTABLE, UNACCEPTABLE!".

Ok Mid70s I may be finished using Landon as a punchline although I do have until midnight to possibly make a snide comment at his expense!

GOOD LUCK OHIO VOLLEYBALL TOMORROW AGAINST 10TH RANKED MICHIGAN!!!!

I think that's five straight over Marshall now. My favorite was beating them in the MAC tournament finals in Marshall's last season as a member.

You know that I'm the biggest possible OHIO FOOTBALL honk..

But OHIO VOLLEYBALL is a terrific, terrific sport.  You are missing if you don't go to the games.  Aren't some right after football games?  An anecdote.,,,

The g.f. hates cold.  After we came in from L.A. for a football game at Peden, she wanted to rush in out of the cold (must've been 40-45 degrees!) so we went over to The Convo to get warm and for bathroom.  As I waited, I wandered in to the volleyball game that was going on.  The g.f. came out of the bathroom and DID NOT want to see any volley.  I said c'mon, we'll just watch for a minute.

Five minutes later, we've won a pizza tossed into the crowd and she's yelling her lungs out with OHIO! every time after OldKatz makes his 'Point!' call.

If you're missing volley, then you're missing.

One of mine too. Cat fans were well represented at St. John's Arena, including this sign:

"WE'RE OHIO", and the other side: "YOU'RE STATE"

So disappointed to discover there's no home match for Homecoming this year! But, thrilled to see the team doing so well. Tomorrow's game will be another huge test.

It doesn't appear that a volleyball and football game occur on the same day this year.

It's disconcerting to see that some Bobcat posters seem to have a major axe to grind and stoop to cheap shots. Why posters of opposing teams seem to be chastised (after we win) is something I don't understand. Maybe it's due to us being the inept football team we were for 30+ years and now people want some kind of revenge and 'payback'. And IMO I didn't see much wrong with most of the Marshall posters this past week.

Yeah, said from the guy who posts drivel most every day. Your posts that constantly mention BGSUcks, Terd, Big Least got old about 3 years ago. Perhaps you think you're funny ... most here wouldn't agree.  Immature at best.

mid70s, I think you've missed the major point of most of these posts in this thread and other Marshall threads after the game.   They are manly parodies of Chuck Landon's analysis piece after the game that was more of a diatribe.  Some of the Marshall faithful who post here defended Landon and got caught in the crossfire.  The Marshall posters who are on here fairly regularly are treated with respect and generally well liked.  I'm talking about guys like FlatTire, We Are Marshall, mckayt, penn2moss, and several others.
