It sure didn't feel like a 38-0 win.  If Peay had their act together, they would've scored 25-30 points on us.  They shot themselves in the foot with false starts and miscommunication on passing routes.  Peay could've had at least three TDs were it not for overthrows and receivers looking the wrong way.  Their RB Williams is a real star for them.

The good stuff:  Apparently no serious injuries, although I'm concerned about Barber; got our first blocked FG of the season; liked most of what I saw from Edmond -- he's a load; the D line looked in stopping the run and getting pressure on the QBs.

Needs work: I realize there were some new guys in the O line, but they didn't open a lot of holes; the secondary left too many guys open considering Peay has mostly straight dropback passers; fumbles -- I'm not convinced that Cochran wasn't down before the ball came out, but Daz and Edmond need to cover-up better when they hit traffic; Vick's timing with receivers -- it just wasn't there today.

Two observations: (1) Solich may open the kicking competition again; Green's just too inconsistent and Yaz shows promise.  (2) Wasn't it strange seeing a college football team huddle up?  I thought that was out of style.  BTW, on Jeopardy this week I found out that the huddle was first used at Gallaudet University in DC.  It's a school for the deaf, and they used the huddle to keep the opposition from reading their signing.  Of course, teams now use hand signals and placards, without a huddle.

We did what we had to today.  A LOT of guys played.  That's good; you could really see the difference in the teams when our 2nds and 3rds came in fresh.

The only significant negative is the turnovers.  Cannot do that from here on.

I can't use First Row - they relentlessly attack your PC with viruses, and since I have Norton, it's like having no protection at all.

A combination of Ad Block and No Script removes that threat- but there's a learning curve.

L.C. I hope your right about all but 2 players back for the Akron game. That would be huge for us.

...I used firstrow for the NT game (yes, we all know about pirating, but TWC deserves it) ....

It isn't TWC you are stealing from, but ESPN.

Maybe he is being really optimistic but Lechner wrote, "Bobcats are 3-1 now. Hopefully I'll be back to make it 4-1." Maybe he's got a shot at playing in two weeks.

Even if he can't make Arkon, it's great to know he's not planning on being out for the season. He'll be needed for BG, for sure. Injury list should be getting a lot shorter over the next two weeks.
