You have to think that in-game experience and success weighs a bit more than practice.

Practice?!  We talkin' 'bout practice, man!  Practice?  Practice!

I agree, and  I'm sure if Amicone continues to prove himself the better kicker over the course of a few weeks rather than just a couple days, he'll get his chance. The injury was unfortunate and it probably did set him back in the competition.

Yaz hit from 47 with room to spare in the Peay game.  I'll take that over practice.  I'd like to see Amicone get his shot but only if Yaz gets inconsistent or it's definitely out of his range.

I have no preference. Whoever can make them in the game is the one I want. I don't care if that's Green, Yaz, or Amicone, or someone else. Green had a shot, and didn't really get it done, especially from over 40 yards, where he was 0-4. So far Yaz is 1-1, so I'm fine with him having the job for awhile.

Speaking of recovering from injury, Yaz is coming back from an injury, last year. Thus, his kicking may be improved now from fall camp, as he puts the injury further behind him.

Nope,no relative, just an Ohio and Tri Valley Grad living in PA that saw all four years of him in High School as an All Ohio Receiver,DB and Kicker. IMO, one of the most consistant and highest scoring kickers in Ohio HS history acc. to the record books. Just can't figure out that if the kid is charting better than the other two since camp, other than being on the IR list, why he's not getting a shot. Was a team leader, spokesman, and heart and soul of a 2012 State Tourney team, acc. to a Cols. Dispatch article when Solich recruited him. In fact the article goes on to say that Amicon was actually kicking "better than Weller" and "putting pressure" on the All-Everything Weller in the early camp days last year. Personally, don't want it to sound like I'm the president of his fan club but acc. to some of the upperclassmen that I've shared a few with on Court st.....he's highly respected as a quazi team leader. Guess he' a Player Tutor as well as a DD for a bunch of the "bad boys" when they party alittle too much, haha.! Sounds alittle like Aaron Bates from Michigan State a few years ago. Another great SE Ohio kicker who went on to be a Captain and spokesman on Coach Dantonio's Spartan squad. Disgruntled, yes. Want to see our area represented...and hope his 5'6"..175 stature isn't the intangible for Haines keeping himoff the field. Just my two cents!

I went to high school the same time as Amicione and was in middle school for Bates. My high School, new Lexington, was in the same athletic league as both, and I honestly don't remember either playing in high school. Until my last couple years of high school, we owned both Tri-Valley and John Glenn where Bates went most years. My high school was in the final four if the state tourney my freshman year in 08 and we had some good, nice sized guys on our team, and the best school anyone on it went in to play for was d2 Walsh. Always felt like OU could have gotten a steal or two from that team, althought some went on to wrestle at schools like Columbia.

I think Amicone was probably unfortunate getting his injury when he did. As a result, when Green faltered, the logical go-to guy became Yazdani. As long as Yazdani remains perfect in actual games, I think the job will probably remain his.
