He's only terrible in the first three quarters: 1-6 but 3-3 in the 4th Q.  Trouble is, teams usually have the majority of their chances in the first three quarters.

Apparently Amicone was scheduled earlier in the week to set up should Green have his hook, shank, push problems(sounds like my golf game)
Amicone who charted better than both Green and Yazdani over the last couple of weeks suffered a severe groin pull according to the training room. Team Doc pulled him mid-week for at least a weeks therapy and rest.
Hopes for a healthy (and quick ) recovery for "Lil Country" so we can get some much needed consistency.

I don't even see Lichtenstein on the roster anymore. Did he leave the program after his injury?

His injury, like amicone's, was a severe groin injury that just wouldn't heal in pre-season acc. to a sideline report, he has left the team.

According to his "Facebook Status", he still lives in Athens!  Of course, "Facebook Status" is about as reliable as our kicking game!  https://www.facebook.com/rlichtenstein

Maybe during the off week we can send OUr kickers to the Brooks Rossman kicking school?

Weller suffered the same groin issue his Junior year. Tough to heal when you're doing max reps at practice seven days a week.
Reports from the training room on Amicone was blood infusion in the groin area as an option to expedite quick healing. Anyone know about this med. procedure?

Today's Athen's Messenger:
Solich say's: The position is wide open, the kicker's spot is up for grabs again!
Interesting,a healthy Amicone could give them consistency and Yazdani on K/O's and long stuff may been the rule of the day. Green's temper tantrum on the sideline Sat. when "yaz" went in probably didn't help him win any votes for Homecoming Queen !!

He is a grad student, in sports admin I believe.  Has an academic scholarship, if I recall correctly.

Green has a leg. Why not switch it and have him kick off, then Yazdani can do field goals

That was what I thought the situation would be at the beginning of the season. My best guess is that Green probably kicks it longer but lower, which makes it harder to cover the kickoff if it isn't a touchback.

And I think Yaz is consistent as to where his kickoffs go.  They're usually between the hashes, with the difference being length.  The cover team almost always knows where to be.  Based on what I've seen of Green on FGs (and granted it's a different kicking motion), we might not see that from him.

Seeing Green struggle as he has must be hard on the coaches, too.  I'm sure they want him to have success as much as he does.  I was literally praying for that first kick to be good on Saturday because we all know he can do it.

For Frank to publicly throw this competition open again is surprising given that I think it's a mental thing but it's better than pretending that it isn't a problem, I guess.

Maybe it's a range problem.  He's 4-5 inside the 40; 0-4 from 40-49.  His miss on Saturday was from 48; the one Yaz made was from 47.  And except for one (I think) the misses have been REALLY missed.  The one he missed Saturday was a good ten yds left.  But despite it all, he leads the team in scoring.  I really hope he can get it squared away 'cause he has talent.

You gotta be kidding...I'm sure now that Amicone's back from the IR list after a ten day hiatis by Dr's orders for a groin pull that he'll be "the Guy" by the time Haines and Solich get their head's screwed on straight. The kid was 5 for 5 first day back, the only one to hit a 50 yarder and Yazdani gets the nod. Unbelievable. Amicon's been the most consistant since camp started. Something smell "fishy" on the backs of the Hocking, hum.....

You have to think that in-game experience and success weighs a bit more than practice.

Practice?!  We talkin' 'bout practice, man!  Practice?  Practice!

I agree, and  I'm sure if Amicone continues to prove himself the better kicker over the course of a few weeks rather than just a couple days, he'll get his chance. The injury was unfortunate and it probably did set him back in the competition.
