I think it is possible to have an "official" attendance of over 19,000 if you had a promotion where you gave out 15,000 tickets to special groups who just decided not to go to the game.

So, with a 30,000 seat capacity the stadium was two thirds full? I don't think so. There were at least 20,000+ empty seats.

Photo I took at kickoff. Nowhere near 19,000 there. Not even 9,000.

On a positive note, we had a great showing. I'd estimate a good 2/3 to 3/4 of the people in the lower level GA section were wearing green and white.

Solid proof right there Tyler. If they had 1 to 2 thousand I'd be surprised. Wait, let me count . . . . 1, 2, 3.............

Hey we sat pretty close to you..

Here is one I took just before the teams entered the field.

This was my first trip to Akron. I thought the stadium was great. Wish Ohio had a facility like Akron has. Top of the line..

ESPN's vidcast had a medium range shot of the crowd taking shelter under the stands during the heavy rain.  People were standing under an overhang, watching the game.  And 50-70% of the people in that shot were wearing Green & White.

Isn't "Akron crowd" an oxymoron?

When the rain temporarily abated, the lower deck on the visitors' side appeared to have a couple thousand Ohio fans.  An Akron Event Staff person told me he had never before seen - even in good weather - so many visiting team fans.

FREE tickets..  That will always bring a crowd.

Parking is terrible. Lots right beside the stadium not even half full.

I understand those were prepaid lots but there is no way they are sold out.
Wonder why they don't sell the unsold spots..

Visitor parking is a lot better than in Athens. I parked closer to the stadium than I usually do at Peden in Tailgreat Park.

I told my wife, if it is was really marketed heavily, I think Ohio fans could invade Akron or Kent like Marshall used to. I know there was an awesome crowd at Miami a few years ago on Thanksgiving weekend, but I would love to see 8,000 OU fans show up at Infocision sometime and just loudly take over. For those that don't travel with the team, you are missing out on some fun trips.

Agreed...Kent last year was a great showing as well. If the BGSU game is for all the marbles (and it's looking that way), I expect a big-time Bobcat showing - even with it being a weeknight game. It sounds like O$U is giving us about 5 tickets for that evening's MBB game, so everyone get your behind up to BGSU(cks)!!

I don't think O$U is "giving" us any tickets. Just like Northwestern didn't "give" O$U any for Saturday nights game.

Too bad for the scheduling conflict - but the way I see it we have not had a shot at O$U in BBall for 20 years - and we have a winning streak to try and keep alive. Plus - Nick, Jon, and Stevie finally getting to play in Columbus - no way I am not there.

Akron is a great place to go watch OHIO.  I parked right under the scoreboard.  The girl at the gate let us in.  Tailgated with kroon fans.  They were nice and even gave us some great food.  Awesome stadium, easy to get to and out of.  One of my favorite places to travel to.

We parked right behind the General Admission stands across the street in a gravel lot for free. About 20 other cars were parked there too. Wonder why the owner of the lot doesn't charge?

Out tailgating was a Chick Fil A sandwich and coke we bought at the stadium.

Coke.. I wish Peden had Coke.

Just like 'Kron is a pale imitation of a MAC football team - Pepsi is a pale imitation of the original - Coke. I friggin' hate that sugared down swill. They do spend a ton of $ at on premise venues/sponsorships - where I end up having to go with Dr, Pepper - because Pepsi sucks. OK - got that off my chest................

And how about some Green Gatorade? I bet they could sell a lot of Green Kool-Aid!

Great analogy.  I totally agree.

When I go into an establishment that has Pepsi and not Coke.  I sometimes ask for their "their cheap imitation cola-based beverage," or if I'm in a real obnoxious mood, I will ask for their "imitation Coke."

Back in the late '70s Pepsi ran an ad campaign using "blind taste tests."  I came across one of their taste tests at a festival in St Joe, Mich and knew right away which was which.  When I told the girl I liked the Coke better, she had this "not again" look on her face.

I always kind of sigh when I go somewhere and they are a Pepsi vendor.  Fortunately I like Mt. Dew but there is no comparison for cola. I also feel kind of awkward when I have a cup of neon green liquid sitting at my table lol.   Someone once told me that Pepsi sells more Mt. Dew than Pepsi Cola....anyone else hear this?

Is the Pepsi distribution plant still in Athens?  If so don't plan on your soft drink options to change any time soon at Peden/Convo.  Guess it will have to be BYOC!

I dislike Pepsi also, would love to have RC at the games.  Coke comes in second.

I worked summers on a Pepsi delivery truck while at OU.  All the Pepsi I could drink, all day and I drank - none.

I hate stadiums/locations that sell Coke! I love my Dew and I'm likely single handedly supporting their Dew sales!!
