As much as I hate being on the receiving end of them at my job... angry emails that are CC'd to everyone under the sun can be pretty effective at bringing attention to a matter.  I'd usually never advocate for it - but this is ridiculous...

I'd suggest emailing Parking Services administrators, Athletics Administrators, and the President's Office.

I wish there was  a way we could rent out an entire RV sales lot and drive 49 motorhomes to the home opener like Jeff Bridges to the trial  in "Tucker"

O.K. folks, here's what happened.  Because of all the construction on campus both residential and athletic, we're down 300 spaces that are normally used for game day parking.  Of the remaining spots, there really isn't a good lot that's conducive to RV parking.  The greatest number of RV's that we've ever had at one game is 10 so we're not talking about a huge problem.  This may very well be a one year thing and when the construction is completed for the indoor facility, that lot might very well be the RV lot.  For now, this is the best situation that athletics and parking services could come up with.

On a side note, if you're not a Bobcat Club member and season ticket holder, be prepared to park quite a ways from Peden this year.  Losing these spots is going to push pay parking out even further.

Oh boy.......

Alan-

Will more Bobcat Club Memberships be sold than parking spaces? Not sure if they cut that off at some point.

Curious, how many RVs are at any given game?  Is the number less than 10?  Depending on what the number is, maybe the additional parking for OBC members was needed?  Season ticket sales go up and you have more people with guarenteed parking because of OBC donations.  Were RVs charged based on their size and how many spots they would take up?  If an RV takes up 5 spots it should pay for all 5 in my opinion.  Not saying I agree with it, but when crowds grow, tough choices are made.  The other option would be raising the parking pricing in the OBC lots....which I'm sure would draw complaints from this crowd as well

Edit:  Didn't see some of the prior posts, but it does make sense.

We definitely ran into oversold situations during basketball season.  My guess is that as season ticket sales continue to grow  there will be more spots sold than there actually are - especially this year.  If my memory serves me correctly, the first game is band day and with all of the non-traditional folks coming to watch their kids march in their respective high school bands, that night will be a nightmare.  Moral of the story, whether you're a season ticket holder or not - get there early this year.

Also, it looks like the student tailgate party is being moved to - are you ready for this - punch card park.

There are a lot of parking opportunities for all of the home games for I believe $5. There are close lots but for the far away ones, Transportation Services offers free shuttles to and from the lots before and after the game that run for about 2 hours or so before the game until at least an hour after the game. They also run throughout the game, except for one half hour break shortly after the game starts.
They do this every home game and they're totally free. The shuttles are there for you guys so the drivers will do pretty much anything within their power to help you out. They even stop and pick people up along the way and if they aren't real busy at that moment, they can generally take you about anywhere you need to go (within reason). It's a pretty sweet service that's offered plus it helps a lot of students pay their rent.

every game we usually take the back way out through the plains..seeing the the fairgrounds empty and I have always wondered why they (either the county or city ) does not  run shuttles to the fairgrounds for park and ride.. COTA and the State runs them to all tOSU games from the state fairgrounds and it is by far the best way to get to the games.

UCLA does the same sort of remote-lots-with-shuttle to their games at the Rose Bowl.  It's very effective...buses constantly running.

We would be silly to not at least double that to $10 for homecoming weekend.
