Going with 12-2 here. Tettleton and Beau are a very experienced tandem. BG and Kent State are toss up games but I think we'll get 1 of the 2. I feel good about winning the MACC this year if we can make it to the title game. Ohio has the team to overwhelm a more inexperienced school in a bowl game again.

Louisville - L
It'll take one game to shake-down our reconstructed O-line; pass rush and new LB set vs.
seasoned Teddy B; and brand new kickers in front of a large, hostile home crowd on national TV and in hot autumn weather.
N Texas through Buffalo - wins, all eight of 'em
BGees -L
Each season we have @ least one game we "should have won", but lost, and I'm afraid this is it.  We handed them last year's game.  This one is on the road; vs. their 3 1/2-season starter QB and TOUGH defense.
KSU and UMass - wins

Conf Ch'ship:  Win.  Got to be.  Toledo: We've lost every game in Toledo since 1967, and all of 'em here since Brian Burke.  We've lost in every way and by every mis-step possible.  This has got to change  N Ill:  Great record recently in Athens, but iffy on the road, including late-game loss to then-undefeated Huskies @ their house a while back.  This has got to change.

Bowl Game: If we win the Conf, the bowl is a given.
GO, CATS!

I have tried to put this thought of my mind from last year's game, but was the BG game where our Special Teams were just god freaking awful?

Yes. 2nd quarter outcored 19-0 mostly due to that.

No.

BG was the game in which we scored an early TD and our offense spent the rest of the first half coming to the line showing fear and disorganization such as I have never seen on the college or pro level outside of that game.  In the second half, the fear was gone but the disorganization stayed and seemed to be joined by a lack of confidence.  It was very weird.  BG was a decent team but nothing that we didn't see week in and week out.

I don't know.  Maybe injuries at that point were such that we had a lot of guys playing who had little experience.  But it was very, very unusual.

BG ran one very fine play that got them a lot of yards, a td I think.  Can't recall what it was exactly.  I think that it was a rollout by their QB who threw long...except that had really pitched it or handed it off to a running back who took off for a huge gain.  It sure fooled everyone in the stadium who thought they saw what happened.

No Monroe! You CANNOT discount all of the FUBAR punting moments in that loss to BG. Yes, had the offense not had any 4th downs over the final 45 minutes of the game it wouldn't have been an issue, but punting...punt snapping is what killed us that week

Agreed. As bad as that offense was that game (and it was bad), we only lost by 12. Take away the 2 blocked punts, the safety off a punt, and the turnover on downs as a result of the bad punt snap, and we might have actually won.

This is why I can't figure out all the love for BUGS this year. Are they an improving team? Absolutely. Could we lose to them? Sure, especially at their place. But they're losing their best offensive weapon in Samuel to transfer, and I just don't see them as the best team in the East.

Not quite ready to make my predictions. I want to see the team's attitude in camp first.

Not sure about the outcome of each game, but I say 11-2 in most likely......if our injury situation returns to a more normal rate for college teams this year.

By the time kickoff rolls around, my confidence that we will beat Louisville is probably going to surpass the confidence I had that we would beat Penn State last year.

I think that there has been too much turnover on this squad for them to do much better than this.  I think the Turds are going to come in here loaded for bear and pretty healthy so early in the season.  Buffalo counts as this season's inevitable inexplicable loss.  I think that 12-1 is just as plausible as 9-4 but I think 9-4 is more likely.

@ Louisviile   - L, Rebuilt Ohio D not ready yet, Ohio loses by 10
North Texas   - W Ohio by 14
stupd cow      -W Ohio by 7

@ 'kron          -W Ohio by 14
CMU               -W Ohio by 21
@EMU            -W Ohio by 21
redhawk         -W Ohio by 21
@Buffalo        -W Ohio by 14
@BG               -W This game is for the Mac East, Ohio will be the underdog, but pulls the upset
kents             -W Ohio by 14
UMas
s           -W Ohio by 35

MACC             - W Ohio nips NIU
Bowl               - L at 11-1, Ohio bites off a better bowl

Final Record - 12-2

Comments: I don't think there are going to be many close games this year. Louisville probably has too much, and the defensive front 7 isn't likely to be ready yet. The defense will improve a lot over the first few games, though, and by the time Ohio get to the conference schedule, they will romp in all the games except BG, which will be a real battle, and will be for the MAC East. If Ohio loses to BG, they miss the MACC, but wins a bowl, to end 11-2

Ok, ready to make some predictions:

@ Lvl             - Loss. I think we CAN win, but after last year's injuries, I think we come out a little too hesitant.
North Texas   - Win. Cobwebs shaken off.
Terd               - Win. I'm nervous about this game, but I think we win at home.
Austin Peay   - Win. Good chance for more of the younger guys to get experience before conference games.

@ 'kron          - Win. Kron sucks.
CMU               - Win. Homecoming. Crowd's gotta do its part, though..
@EMU            - Win. Large Flightless Bird might be the worst team in FCS.
Fiami              - Win. Ain't no way we lose this one after last year.
@Buffalo        - Loss. The annual "WTF???" conference loss.
@BG              - Win. Backs against the wall, we show up big time.
kents              - Win. Not again. Not at home.
UMass            - Win. I would worry about this game if it were on the road, but not at home, even with a turkey hangover.

MACC             - Win. It's time.
Bowl               - Win. 3 straight.

Just wanted to clarify my picks quick. I think we can compete and possibly upset Louisville but I don't have the guts to predict an upset. As far as Marshall, I definitely think we can win against them and expect it to be a great game. I'm only predicting a loss to them and BG because there's always those few games that we go on to lose even though you think we should win. Marshall gave us a TOUGH game last year. As far as BG, they have a very solid defense but we kinda gift wrapped some things to them in our loss versus them last year.

Overall, I think 2013 will be a solid 9-11 win season, fighting for a MAC East crown and a possible berth to the MAC Championship. Anything less than 8-9 wins would be considered a disappointment in my eyes for this year.
