If it's something like Louisville (Pappa John's Cardinal Stadium) then I won't have too much fuss with it.

A little historical perspective:  Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe when the Convo was first built it was originally going to be named after a local car dealer until he backed out of the agreement at the last second.

Basically... if Vern Alden thought it was ok when the thing was built...I see no problem with it...

Utter bs and just another example of the current ad's lack of historical perspective.  I hope all posters on here with a spine will send letters of objection  to McDavis on this.  My email is on the way.

Oh, give it a rest. You're the first one to whine when ticket prices go up a dollar. You demand a first rate product but no one wants to admit that it takes money. We don't have that much history, and we definitely need the money. Seriously, is anyone going to be rolling over in their graves for this one?

Don't think they're getting much $ to get a company to attach its name to that mess.

And yes, at some point the naming rights revenue stream needed to be tapped.

(McDavis reads Alan's strongly-worded letter, tears up oversized novelty check for $2m, begins sculpting Chad Brinker statue in mashed potatoes)

Peden Stadium and the Convocation Center are "state of the art" facilities?
My thoughts exactly, and this better haul in real cash or I'm with Al in writing letters!

I'm sorry, why is this a test of whether or not I have a spine?

Great idea. No ifs, ands or buts about it. Stop thinking in the past and think of the future. Ohio needs money in this athletic department and boat loads of it. You can't get that selling $5 season opener tickets and $99 Family Premium Packs. That will get butts in the seats, but your overhead costs are still going to be there.

OT: Why hasn't the athletic department attempted to expand radio coverage? With the way the Ohio alumni is spread across the state, especially in the major cities of Cleveland and Cincinnati, radio is still a great tool for those of us who like listening to games while driving. I'm not going to pretend like I know how this works or how difficult it is. Someone with knowledge?

You can always resist it by continuing to call it Peden Stadium (instead of Acme Field).

I will.  Of course in my head, the Cavs play in Gund, Tribe in The Jake, White Sox in New Comisky, Dolphins in Joe Robbie.......And I am a big fan of the Washington Bullets.
