At least we didn't have to move kickoff to 11AM to accommodate ESPNU

Does anyone else just want to forget about this season besides me?   Just start Vick and try to end with some pride I guess

We will play them close in the first half and then get blown out in the second. their running back will have a career game. that seems like the pattern lately

Ohio has 10 days to prepare for UMass while UMass has to play the Saturday before this game. That is one plus and it would be nice to end the season with a winning record for a 5th straight season and a win against UMass would ensure that while increasing the chances of Ohio showing up in a bowl. Losing this game and Ohio finishes 6-6 tied with CMU 6-6 and they with their victory would get a bowl game ahead of us. This program the last few seasons has benefited with more time to prepare for a game. The bye week before Akron was a big help this year and the layoff between the regular season and Independence Bowl last year.

Akron is horrid! Did you really just equate that we needed extra prep time to beat those clowns?

Grasping in vain perhaps for some positives. 10 days to prepare for UMass. Guarantee a winning season with a win. Beau Up The Middle many more times.

First Play. I think it would be a good idea to establish the running game and send Beau up the middle for a gain of two. They will never see it coming.

Now if Vick were to do the hand-off to Beau they would be completely blindsided and it would be a sure TD run

If we don't beat UMASS we better move to 1AA or whatever they call it today.

I don't know if you want to go to FCS. I went to see North Dakota State at Youngstown State last week and NDSU would beat half the teams in the mac a few in the big ten. Come to think of it YSU would beat a few of them also.

That's been my point for a while now.  The MAC is a somewhat glorified 1AA league.  Might as well admit it and play at that level (the whole conference).  Seriously, do most teams play like and have the resources of NDSU or YSU or Alabama and Ohio State?  And, yes, I love (and played) FB as much as BB!  It's just proven over the last 9 years that even with the best coach we could ever have/get, we are what we are and that is top 1AA level.

NDSU beat Kansas St this season; K-St is one of only six bowl eligible teams in the Big Twelv.

YSU lost by 38 to Mich St, which puts them on par with Illinois (39-pt loss).

I can write the game story for you guys ahead of time.

ATHENS — The Ohio football coaching staff  revealed after Saturday's game that the entire 2013 season was just a build-up to a flea-flicker in the fourth quarter  to beat UMass 6-0 in quadruple overtime in a meaningless Mid-American Conference East Division contest.

"The runs of Beau up the middle for 10 weeks, the painful losses, doofuses on the internet questioning my coaching and the team's effort...it was all worth it.," Frank Solich said. "We painstakingly put on tape a useless read option for 10 weeks  for this moment  and this moment only and it paid off. It's like something Andy Kauffman would do if he were a college football coach. And if he were  alive."

Why not hire Magnus Carlsen to come in and help out with play calling. It can't be any worse then what we have seen all year.

Completely ignorant perspective. To play at the FBS level its a school by school decision and not a conference wide decision. Northern Illinois is not going to agree to move down to the FCS level with a program in the Top 15 of the BCS standings. WTF. Ohio will never drop down to FCS at this point either with a program making bowl games every year.
