Happy with a winning season. NO doubt work needs to be done moving into next year but all and all happy with 7 wins. Did we underachieve? yes, but I am perfectly fine at underachieving with 7 wins versus being a Miami with 0 wins or Akron with 5. We are all pretty bitter about the year but look at Akron. Less than ten years ago they played and won a MAC title. Look at how they have fallen. Imagine how they feel Same can be said with Miami just a couple years ago they were playing for a MAC title and now look where they are at. Let's try not to act like spoiled brats and be thankful with what we have. Going to stress this again though we need to make huge strides this offseason

I'm definitely glad we are having a winning season.  I'm really hoping that Bowling Green doesn't screw us out of a bowl AND a huge payday from NIU's BCS bowl.*

Don't get me wrong, I am extremely disappointed that we are at the point we are.  However, we have an opportunity to make some amends by winning a third straight bowl.  It would give us some momentum going into the offseason and not leave us with a completely sour taste in our mouths about this season.

*I realize that we did it to ourselves to be in a position that would pray for NIU to win.

The CMU game is looming large right now. Blowouts happen when you're overmatched physically or mentally.  But when you have a win in hand and let it slip away, that's careless.  We were physically outplayed by CMU but still were only a few minutes away from a win.  Losing that game really is the difference between having a good shot at a bowl and hoping for a miracle.

Different outlook. CMU was lucky to win that game. I felt it was hard fought and CMU caught a break. I would rather lose that way than get blown out by teams that should not be that much better. CMU was the only other MAC team to win a bowl last year. They just had the #1 in the NFL draft. NIU, Ohio and CMU are the three MAC teams with the most wins in recent years. CMU has players. Ohio is still learning about winning. The key is to win the game before half, certainly before the fourth quarter. A lot of that is mental. Right now there are still teams in the MAC that are winning programs that don't get it, like Ohio fans get it, that they are supposed to lose to Ohio. Agreed, Ohio should be 8-4, hopefully the youngsters learned that lesson about putting away teams you should beat.

What?

What year in the program does a team learn how to win? A program with a third-year starting qb?

Over the past five seasons, Ohio's win total (43) is more than traditional football powerhouses like Notre Dame, USC, Michigan and, technically, Ohio State over the same period.

I guess they also need to learn how to start winning.
