And speaking of Akron, they won their last 3 and 4 of their last 5. Here's hoping we play them early next year because they appear to be a team on the rise.

And it was a feast or famine season. Nine of the 12 games were blowouts; we were 5-4 in them; 5-1 in blowouts vs teams with lousy records; 0-3 against the three best teams on our schedule. We had only three close games, all against bowl-eligible teams, and went 2-1 -- beating the CUSA East champ (congrats, Terd) and a team vying for the CUSA West title.
Not satisfying by any stretch of the imagination.

Over the past five seasons, Ohio's win total (43) is more than traditional football powerhouses like Notre Dame, USC, Michigan and, technically, Ohio State over the same period.
No matter what the bowl selection outcome, congrats to the program on another winning season.

I am very impressed.
By some of you's low standards.
We have four MAC wins. Apart from our game, those teams total record is 8-36.
How we beat stupd cow is beyond me.
This year's team adds nothing.

Akron beating Toledo is a signature win. That likely would have been a BG/Bufflao type blowout loss for Ohio. I don't like it, but they are coming fast.

There were a fair number of two-year Jucos, too, I think. Building a program on the backs of Jucos is a tough way to go. It will be interesting to see how well it works for them over a longer term. Certainly anything will work better than iCoach.

They may have 21 seniors but a look at this depth chart clearly shows that they have a ton of returning starters and the only place that they lose a bunch of seniors is on the defensive line.

hey, if that is right they have a 5'6" guy at 138 pounds at H whatever that is. You've got to be kidding. Anyway 8 senior starters and 5 second team on offense and defense-left off special teams. So they lose a lot.

They lose 5 of their top 10 offensive linemen, and their top 2 long snappers, plus 3 starters on the defensive line, and 3 of the top 8 DBs. Next year they will lose a lot of top players on offense and defense again. The problem is that recruiting so many Jucos, they are short on Freshmen/Sophomores, so when the Juniors and Seniors are gone, there won't be young guys in the program ready to take over. Instead they will end up going back for more Jucos. There are coaches that gave made it work, but its a different way to go.

I just checked again and this is what I saw - Offense - X, LT, LG, RT. Defense - DE, DT, DE ROX, CB. That's it for the 22 offensive and defensive starters.

JuCo route. Sounds like a solution for Ohio at RB for next season.
With the graduation of Beau and Boykin and the injury bug to Daz and this position is quite thin.
Perhaps a solution is to go to an offense with an overbalance of passing vs the run and have the QB as the main runner and fill the running back spot with a stud blocker.
Would have liked to see what Sprague at QB would look like in important situations this season. In limited action he looked like he could throw darts with nice accuracy and could bomb it long too. His stature of being a little thicker works well in busting away from a weak tackle. Have no idea what his footwork looks like or how he passes on the run.
Need to upgrade the kick return positions. Having to go to Carpenter showed another thin roster spot. Should be able to get a few walk-ons that can do three things--catch, take off and hold on.

Not satisfied. Our problem is we think so low of our selves. I am sure the team feels that they underachieved, I share the same sentiment. We will get em next year. Go cats

Have to trust coach Gdowski to put a good QB out there. RB is a position I am excited about. See the link. Best HS video since Boykin came out. I do expect a transfer and the roster might help with a position change. Most important will be fielding an OL with some guys who are shaving.

Colorado - my bad. I misread your post and thought you were saying 8 starters on offense and 5 on defense. My bad - too much turkey I guess.

I believe that neither KVK nor Patrick Tafua would accept this season. Nor would've let it happen.
And what does this have to do about where you have to address your holiday card to me?
