Might want to root for Cincy over L'ville tonight too, just for a cushion.  L'ville is #19 and could move up with a win and a UCF loss.  If there's a tie for first in the AAC, I think the higher ranked team is the conf champ.  (Cincy leads 14-10 in the 3rd.)

Actually no: UCF (currently 7-0) will be the AAC champion. If they lose and Louisville wins this game (currently Louisville is losing) then both would be 7-1, with UCF owning the head-to-head tie breaker.

It's not just an NIU win to put Ohio in the $$$...a win by our lil' sisters in Columbus is also required.

I live in Chicago and people up here are finally agreeing that NIU is the real deal.  I am excited about the game, but still saddened that we are not playing them tonight.

I was all but certain we would be playing in the MACC game this year.

Maybe it is a blessing in disguise, since this is NIU's year?

Nope. All NIU has to do is win. The B1G championship plays no part in their BCS hopes. The BCS rules say a non-AQ team will receive an automatic berth if they finish in the top 12 OR in the top 16 AND ahead of an AQ conference champion. NIU is #14 and ahead of UCF, the AAC champ, so it's win and in for them.

If O$U loses tomorrow, it'll just knock a different AQ at-large team out of the BCS.

The sinking began Oct 5th - so really it's kinda long and drawn out..................

I'd guess it will be a long game, with plenty of MACtion. NIU certainly has the ability to come from behind.

I'm sorry but there is no way NIU comes back from down 18 points. I mean BG has a top 10 defense in all College Football. Yes i know they came from 20 down against us but i just don't see it happening tonight. Thanks for nothing.Dammit now prob. no bowl game for us and a loss of roughly 8 mil to the MAC

NIU's got this. Jordan Lynch is about to have the half of his life. This team has been a second half team all year

Is there any way we can make a bowl game if Northern Illinois loses? What if both SMU and Rutgers lose tomorrow?

BG can really play defense.  And, I think they will just run the ball the second.  Probably no miracle comeback for NIU tonight.

On an earlier post somewhere I said I felt they had the game plan to win.  Excellent defense with ability to run the ball.  But tonight the QB is coming out.  They are heads above the rest of the East.  i fear we will be chasing them as long as Clawson stays.  Even without him, they have some really good players coming back both on the line and in the skill area.

Except BG has been a four quarter team all MAC opponent season long.

BG really is not losing a lot next year too which is pretty scary. Plus some of the better recruiting in the MAC. I'm about 99.9% sure they will be picked to win the East.

Come on bobcat28, you saw several jet sweeps and the qb keeping--you see that in 13 by OHIO?

The no pass pressure defense and wide open receivers looks quite familiar though!

Could BG be losing their coach though? Seems like he would be a hot commodity.

NIU's offense is not the problem. I think its a safe bet that regardless of what NIU's offense does in the second half, they will not win if they give up 800 yards of offense and 60 points to BG. They are on pace to do that so far.

F*ck Bowling Green. They have screwed the whole conference out of BCS money and basically embarassed the conference's showpiece team on ESPN. I hate this
