When FSU was on their final drive and the refs missed the horse collar, Musberger immediately jumped to the conclusion that both refs on the sideline were out of position to make the call. He didn't mention that they just completely gaffed on it. He made an excuse for why they didn't call it. He was clearly pulled down by the collar and everyone in the stadium could see it. You're telling me two referees watching the play couldn't? Come on Brent.
The officials were horrible both ways last night. They flag taunting on FSU (I have no problem), but don't call the spike on Auburn. Don't call the horse collar on Auburn, but also let FSU get away with multiple holds that were much more flagrant than one they called on Auburn.
At the end of the day FSU made fewer mistakes. Simple things such as containment/staying in their lanes doomed Auburn. Just before the fake punt I told my wife Auburn should simply field the punt with a fair catch, I did not say watch the fake, but they should have been in some type of safe mode after their roughing and a fumbled punt they managed to recover.
After 8 hours I was more tired of FSU than 8 years of the SEC.
