Looks like TT is on his way to the CFL. I know there was tons of speculation on this board that his perceived lack of effort was because he wanted to get out of football.  This would seem to debunk that thought.  Which still leads to the question of...what was the reason for his production drop off...

Honestly, I think he was hurt and just doesn't like to make excuses so he said nothing about it or blew it off when asked about it.

I never saw quit in him. We knew he was hurt the last two years and his game dipped. Doesn't mean he didn't try. Every athlete plays through pain even if it makes them worse, I know I did

I'd imagine if one of the CFL's best teams signed him, then yes

Interesting that a pro team that already has LeFevour and other QBs from TX A&M, Cincinnati and Mississippi is bringing in a QB from little ol Ohio. Anyone else think this is progress, no matter how this plays out? Go TT, Gable up the middle.

Good luck to Tyler.

Seems only fair, though. We take one from Canada, and send one back.

He is the 2nd-greatest mystery of Ohio athletics (Ivo is first).  I really wish him well.

Did they sign Beau, too?

I, too, wish him well.  He is an enigma to me, but he gave us some of our best ball in recent memory until his mysterious swoon.  Right now, in fact, I'm watching a DVR of the FIPB against Utah State in order to have something positive in my mind in terms of OHIO athletics before I go to bed.  I don't want images of the basketball team falling apart dancing in my head as I drift off to dream land.  Just now I see a 44-yard TD pass to LaVon in the 3rd Quarter.  What a great play!

Doesn't Chuck Ealey hold all the QB records at Hamilton?  It would be nice to see TT break them.

That game, and the Advocare 100 Independence Bowl the following year were two great games.

No offense, but TT cannot hold Chuck Ealey's jock! The guy was an NFL stud if he was not a man of color in the early 1970's. He is also never going to be in the NCAA Hall of Fame, because of place and time regardless of his accomplishments.

I have been hard on him, but I wish him well. I hope he does well and eventually ends up in the NFL. He has got it in him.

Agreed.  I hope he goes out and has a great pro career and makes us all look like fools.

Guess I am not sure how this is playing out.  There are those here, not all, who jumped off the TT bandwagen.  He does have a following who believe he did enough to earn a place as an all-time Bobcat with all that would bring.

He may not have gave his best effort here, but we all wish him well I think. He was our starting quarterback, he wore the green and white.

Now you say "he may not have gave his best effort." TT played for coaches Gdowski and Solich, two coaches I can see forgiving a thing or two, but, probably never lack of effort.

I'd probably put Jeremy Fears in there somewhere, too. But in the last two years, yes, you are correct.

TT is my #1 all-time OHIO athletic enigma.  Fears and Ivo are tied for a distant second.

Bobcat2 that is my opinion and I believe a validated one, but I still wish him the best.

This is like a Ginger/Mary Ann argument, but Ivo is still a bigger mystery to me.  T2 dealt with injuries and a depleted O line.  Ivo didn't; he just suddenly avoided going to the rim.  Baffling.

Probably belongs as a discussion on the basketball board, but I'm beginning to think the coaching situation was something Ivo had a hard time dealing with. His coming out party was his sophomore year and then he was steadily consistent in his junior year, both under Groce. Christian comes in and he completely falls off the map.

The change in the way he played began his junior year and just got worse as a senior. But his sophomore year was by far his best season. He steadily got worse at the foul line and with that came a huge decrease in the number of free throws he took.

With any sport, a lot of it is in your head. Lose confidence, and what was once easy becomes hard. I have watched players suddenly lose confidence, and have their performances drop off, and have seen players suddenly gain confidence, and improve. dramatically. My personal take on TT was that he had two things happen in his Junior year. One was that he got hurt. Prior to that he ran like he was invincible. After it, not so much. Also, there was the play at the end of the Miam game where he was sacked at the end when time ran out. As hard as the fans were on him, I think he was harder on himself, and I think this game was the true turning point in his time at Ohio.

I think TT has the potential to return to the form he had prior to the Miami game, and I hope he does.
