Went down a weird rabbit hole googling Mark Stoops...

Youngstown produces a lot of coaches.

Mark Stoops - UK
Bob Stoops (and brother Mike)
Pat Narduzzi - Pitt
Tim Beck - Coastal
Jim Tressel (and brothers)
Bo Pelini (and brother)
Eric Wolford - UK OL coach, was at Alabama previous
Mark Mangino - Remember that hefty fella?
Coaching trees are awesome and fun rabbit holes to go down.

Back in 1971 when OHIO clobbered UK 35-6, we had a running back with the last name of Gary who ran like a wild man. The PA announced kept saying on virtually every Ohio play "Gary on the carry." On Saturday we need to hear a lot of "Tyus on the tote" for Ohio to be successful.

Kentucky Defense vs Ohio Offense
153 Pass yds/g (6th in SEC) vs 190 pass yds/g (5th in MAC)
62 Rush yds/g (4th in SEC) vs 203 rush yds/g (3rd in MAC)

Ohio Defense vs Kentucky Offense
239 pass yds/g (7th in MAC) vs 109 pass yds/g (Last in SEC)
105 Rush yds/g (2nd in MAC) vs 152 rush yds/g (12th in SEC)

The Kentucky defense overall is very good, while their offense is not great. They are last in the SEC is pass yards per game

The Ohio defense overall is pretty good, while the offense is limping into this game. We cannot become one dimesional or there will be TONS of 3 and outs. Not ideal. Let Navarro throw and hopefully he makes good decisions. We have some good receievers out there, give them a chance.

Either going to be a low scoring 27-10 game or Kentucky will completely blow us out.

Hopefully I'm wrong but my confidence is very low after last weeks dismal performance on Offense.

According to Fox Sports, "The Ohio Bobcats (2-1) are overwhelming 19.5-point underdogs on Saturday, September 21, 2024 against the Kentucky Wildcats (1-2). The contest's over/under is set at 42.5." So the question is does one bet the mortgage or stay home to play another day?

CBS Sports says the smart pick is Ohio to cover the spread, so their SEC staff think it will be about a 2 TD game.

Nice! To Heck with the wife and kids. It's time to put everything down on the Ohio Bobcats.

And for those who have a problem with gambling, don't forget: Both 1-800-522-4700 and 1-800-GAMBLER are and will remain active in every state. All calls to either number are now routed to the same call center.

Let’s see, UK held the previously #1 team in the county to 13 points. Based on everything since the Syracuse aberration, I’m not seeing Ohio score very many points -maybe 10 more likely 3,6 or 9. I’d love for them to prove me wrong.

Kentucky’s QB hasn’t been great so far, get some points for off of turnovers. We have a solid defense.

If there has ever been a “trap game” this is it.

1 UGA
Ohio
5 OLE MISS

Hope we catch them asleep at the wheel. I work with a ton of UK grads I’d like to talk smack.

Well, look at it this way, Ohio has a better chance of winning this game than our nearst former rival down in Huntington has in winning their game this weekend. How's that for trying to put a positive spin on the Kentucky game?

Like Tyus' swagger here. I hope it carries over to the game. "Tyus on the tote" for 200+ yards!

Undisclosed injury? Was he hurt going into last week's games? I can't imagine betting on college games, knowing absolutely nothing about injuries.

Weaver out is a big concern. I don't recall seeing him get hurt last week...

It’s expected from a MAC-SEC matchup but our DBs are just getting sliced and diced.

Will we actually score some points today?

Not looking so good.

The “this isn’t 1932” crowd must be loving Tyus with 3 carries.

Poulos has got to take care of the ball. Ugly fumble last week, lucked out on the lame duck earlier today, then another ugly fumble today. QB3 time?

The play before he ran into Tyus at the line.

It’s QB3 time.

What a shit show.

The fact that the backup QB choice is a JUCO transfer who has been in Athens for three months does not bode well for Withers and Winter’s development.
