This game could get out of control if we don't get some consistency on offense. Not a great sign when we couldn't establish the run and/or pass against Morgan State.

Hoping for the best though.

I think Ohio is going to score more points than #1 Georgia did at Kentucky. I expect a pretty good game and think Ohio is going to be right in it.

Navarroro completed all 15 of his passes vs Morgan St: 12 to our guys and three to theirs.

You know, O$U used its bye week this week as an "improvement week." They had regular practices Monday through Friday, despite the fact that they're 2-0 and outscored Akron and WMU by 108-6. No matter how we do vs UK, Ohio could stand to have an "improvement week" leading up to next week's bye.

O$U is 2-0 in the MAC and current leader for MAC Title. 🤭

Only we way we beat UK is stop the run, keep 2 safeties high over Barrion Brown and run the ball to keep time of possession.

If St Francis beats EMU this weekend they'll be tied with O$U.

We need to employ the UCF offense.

They ran the ball FIFTY FOUR times. I'm not saying Tyus needs 29 carries. But between him and RHJ we should be pounding it.

KJ Jefferson was 13/22 for 230 yards. Longest pass play all night was 45 yards. (We need to take more deep shots than that). He had 3 TD's. Very efficient.

We have one of the best rushers in the MAC, and a freshman who looked good in the bowl game last year and looked good in spurts this year. Get Tyus a minium of 20-25 carries. RHJ a minimum of 10-15. Tyus has had 16 or 17 carries in every game. He should be getting it far more. We start hot and then go completely away from the run. We have 3 straight rushes and then the next series 3 straight passes. It always feels like my nephew got a hold of the controller.

We no longer have a Rourke who can make all the throws, we have to adapt. And luckily we seem to have some strong RB's who can carry the weight of the offense if we let them. No more 3 INT games against inferior comp.

Stoops, the Head Coach of Kentucky, talking up the Bobcats on the Kentucky Web Site. Basically, don't sleep on these MAC teams, and the Bobcats themselves have a very good Defense. A lot of Coach-Speak, of course, but I have to think that the coaching staff for Kentucky must be nervous that this will be a let down week for them after falling just sort of upsetting #1 Georgia.

They've had trouble scoring this season. They put up 31 in three quarters against SMiss (game shortened by lightning) but only six vs SoCar and 12 vs Georgia. Ohio's D has improved over the last two games, so maybe UK's coaches have cause for concern. I'm sure they don't want their team to relax after a couple of tough conference games, but they also know that even mid-level MAC team shouldn't be taken lightly.

It's the most likely way, but not the only way. Kentucky could use some player who is later found to be ineligible, forcing them to forfeit.

LC are outright saying that the Bobcats stomped the Buckeyes 12-14 years ago?

Huh? What? I didn't say anything here about that. I'm saying that if a team outscores the other team, but uses an ineligible player in the process, and they get caught, they will have to forfeit that game. Thus, it is possible for a team to win a game without outscoring the other team. It doesn't happen often, but it has happened.

As far as the 2008 game, where Ohio led the Buckeyes as late as Q4, in other posts, I have said that Ohio played very well, and they might have won that game, had they not had so many injuries in the game, including T3. I've also said that 2008 was one of the better Bobcat teams, but they had a very high number of season ending injuries that year (T3, Morsillo, Kenkel, Mooney, Schussler, Gatling, Posey, Sweeney, Laudermilch, Michael Brown, and Michael Mitchell), and as a result, that team had a disappointing year, ending at 4-8. 2008 and 2005 were Solich's only two losing seasons.

No, because the offense can give up points. Just ask Pittsburgh in Franks first year. Pittsburgh defense gave up fewer points and lost. So, yes, only way to beat UK is to score more points than they do. Don’t care, when or how!

In todays world, how can a player be ineligible?

The last time a team forfeited a game was in 1998, when Texas A&M outscored Louisiana Tech 28-7, but forfeited because they used a player who was academically ineligible because his grades were recorded incorrectly. While teams have systems in place to avoid using ineligible players, I wouldn't want to bet that it could never happen again.

Went down a weird rabbit hole googling Mark Stoops...

Youngstown produces a lot of coaches.

Mark Stoops - UK
Bob Stoops (and brother Mike)
Pat Narduzzi - Pitt
Tim Beck - Coastal
Jim Tressel (and brothers)
Bo Pelini (and brother)
Eric Wolford - UK OL coach, was at Alabama previous
Mark Mangino - Remember that hefty fella?
