I see Marshall having a long streak - in their pants - once they get a load of the OHIO Defense! HA! Have fun at the game or watching the game everyone. No matter what has been said on here the past week, the game will be played on the field. Like all rivalry games, no one knows what's going to happen. My life won't end if the Bobcats lose - we are still 1-0 in the MAC. I hope everyone else has the same healthy attitude (you too Herd fans). It's just football, but it's a lot of fun.

P.S. I bet I know who will have the better marching band on Saturday : )

Also ohio does have the chance to ruin our winning streak and undefeated season since we ARE undefeated and on a winning streak. If ohio was 2-0 then you would consider yourself undefeated, correct?

I hope for a injury free and great game. I will root for ohio after this week.
You're missng the fact that we won't need to score very much because our defense is currently on a 1 quarter shut out streak. I predict 3-0 Bobcats.

Perhaps silly/ignorant question: Is this game on CBS's basic over-the-air local outlets (for me, that's in L.A.)? Or is CBS Sports Network a cable/pay channel that one has to get off Dish or DirecTV? Thanks.

It's generally a higher than basic cable tier channel and definitely not over the air.

Will the game be webcast? My ISP change finally went through, so I should have access to ESPN3 now.

This game is on the CBS Sports Network (DirecTV channel 221 and Dish channel 158). You can use this link to find the channel on your cable system: http://www.cbssportsnetwork.com/

This is a CBS Sports Network game so it won't be on ESPN3 or WatchESPN. It's not clear to me whether CBS Sports Network has any live streaming functionality.

LOL, figures. Oh well, I'm watching Ohio-Kent State now. I don't know why ESPN leaves the commercial breaks in the replay, but with no commercials, and I miss the fast forward/replay buttons, but it's nice to be able to see the game. I sure hope they don't leave a 15 minute gap in for halftime.

Edit - indeed, there was gap after gap for halftime. Seriously, they can automate the removal of those gaps, or they could insert ads....

I liked the way the defense played a lot, and I liked the tackling. On offense, the offensive line isn't terrible, but it's a step down from a few years ago. (I think with another year, it will be very good). To me the biggest difference from the offenses of 2011-2 is the missing tight ends. Think back to 2011 when Ohio had Jordan Thompson, Zac Clark, and Drew Roback. Mangen is fine, but there is only one of him. Doc Holliday is definitely right - the loss the the 2-3 tight end sets really changes what Ohio can do offensively.

I was in Lexington last Saturday and watched every play up close so unless our offense improved dramatically over the last 6 days then I would be very, very surprised if we see the endzone more than twice. Our D will be epic, as it has been in the first two games, but our offense is, and will remain, a concern...until they prove to me that they're not.

I don't think they do. Firstrowsports streams it, though. But, of course, we don't condone patronizing pirate sites. ;-)

Of course, if you had actually READ my post, you'd realize that our scoring 35 is contingent on our (1) executing and (2) not turning over the ball. We coughed up two or three scores vs Kent, and dropped two or three vs UK. Ohio's offense is very capable of moving the ball and putting 35+ on the board tomorrow. But we need to avoid beating ourselves.

one advantage to ESPN3 leaving in the gaps- you can pull the replay of Russ and Rob's radio call up in another window, mute the ESPN broadcast, and with a little tweaking you can manually sync the two broadcasts. Much more enjoyable experience.

Interestingly via my new ISP I can watch anything on replay, but live I can only watch ESPN3. Anything that is on ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU, I can't watch live. Oh well, it's an improvement.

Whoa. We dropped two or three scores against UK? That is news to me.

In the game I watched, our offense was thoroughly manhandled.

Lol. Score 35 against us. You will do good to score 10. I only give you that, because its your superbowl. Otherwise, you would be shutout considering you could just score 3 against kentucky.

CBS sports has an all access streming functonality for like 10 bucks. Also, any cable provider has CBS Sports channel. Just call and add it for the game then take it off.

Oh wow! We have Central, Northern Illinois, Bowling Green, Akron and arch rival Miami on our schedule - and Marshall is our Super Bowl. Think before you speak Marshall person. We would rather have wins against any of those teams than (an important) but really for us, a meaningless game against Marshall, as far as the MAC East is concerned. That is our first priority, so don't get it twisted!

Ok, this superbowl crap is dumb. BOTH fan bases get up for this game, as evidenced by the attendance numbers at each school because it is a rivalry, and that's what you do!

I like it BobcatsWin! I'm going make an even bolder prediction: OHIO wins 4-0!

Edit: That is my bold prediction for the score, even though it would also work for our record against Cato, if my wildass guess came true.

This is where I'm at too, Sony although I think the vast majority of Ohio fans see Marshall as major rival. I'm in NE Ohio and speaking for just me personally, Marshall's not the team I despise the most. That honor goes to pretty much any team in the MAC East, especially Fiami. Obviously I want Ohio to win today but for me, the most important of Ohio's first three games by far was the Kent State game, not this game against Marshall.

Also, win or lose today, my props to the Ohio football team!! Opening the season with 3 straight road games is insanely difficult, especially with the caliber of OUr opponents so far. GO BOBCATS!!!

FYI

As a DirecTV subscriber I just upgraded to receive this game. Tomorrow I will cancel this upgrade and only be billed for a prorated 1 day usage approx.$0.50.
It's a little trick I learned by just talking with the customer service rep.

The equipment managers have tweeted our uniform selection before each of the last two games. Nothing for this game - something new or just did not for this one...?

edit: nope - white helmets, green pants and white jerseys.

That means your ISP has ESPN3, but your TV provider doesn't have WatchESPN access. Replays are all through 3, live streams of the linear networks are "WatchESPN". Let me guess - DirecTV?
