One of our d-linemen (Cam McLeod) was hurt mid second half yesterday.  Did he return..what's his status?

Before the season began and with all the hype for stupd cow, I didn't think we had much chance in this game.  Different thinking now.  Now, I eagerly await this one.

OHIO will play.

Marshall fans created a Twitter handle for the Battle for the Bell (@Battle4Bell).

One of worst moments of my life. Save me @HerdFB How could you let this happen? #athenssucks #GoHerd #BeatOhio pic.twitter.com/roZ6qkm95X— The Bell (@Battle4Bell) September 7, 2014

Athens Sucks?

Listen, inanimate bell. Hate on our football tradition. Make fun of our hippies. Call us kittens. Sic Chuck Landon's oh-so-clever-he-might be opening-for-Paula-Poundstone-at-YukYuks-in-1988 banter on us in the thriving business that is print journalism.

BUT DON'T YOU EVER...EVER...SPEAK THAT WAY ABOUT ATHENS!

I don't get the point spread. Rhode Island is horrible, they lost their last 4 games last year and the last 3 they gave up over 50 points a game and finished 3-9. Fiami isn't exactly a powerhouse, if I was a betting man I'd put big money down on this spread.

The point spread is to encourage betting... if people believe in the Bobcats, it'll drop. If not, it stays. Simple.

When you haven't scored a TD in 6 quarters the spread tends to not be in your favor. Marshall has their best team since leaving the MAC, Ohio's offense is talented but inexperienced, its logical that Marshall would be favored. I will caution overly confident Marshall fans (as if there's any other kind) to be mindful that this is likely the best Ohio defense they've ever seen. This is going to be a low scoring battle. Hope you're ready.

AND if we draw out the trend line, OHIO will be approximately +4.5 in turnovers this weekend (95% CI: 3-5).

I look forward to us seeing a good test against Ohio. If we torch you then i know they are legit. Our Defense is also pretty good. The starters held rhode island to 90 yards saturday. Had some hiccups against miami but also played base sets the whole game.

Marshall fans remind me of Michigan fans. They talk about how great things were about 10-20 years ago and refuse to come to the realization that their respective programs have more or less done nothing significant since those glory days.

Don't you dare talk bad about the 1997 Michigan team or how their record against Ohio State is 2-10 since 2001. And don't you dare talk bad about Randy, Chad or Byron or even think of mentioning Ohio's current three game winning streak against Marshall.

oh, its based on arbitrary dates, makes total sense now. Well here's a date- March, 2006. That's when Twitter was founded. Since then Ohio is 3-2 v Marshall. BOOM.

Oh... id say a 10-4 season capped by an ACC win in a bowl game was fairly significant. Your wins over us.... obviously significant to you.

Well, the 2011 win did come in at #5 in the most significant wins of the last 9 years.

The others did not make the Top 10 in a fan vote over the summer.

That might be a huge injury list for a normal team, but it's actually pretty light for us.

That said, I don't think any of these injuries are from the UK game. One I don't see on here is Chase Cochran. I believe he will play, but didn't he have a pretty good stinger last game?

What undefeated run? You won your last game last year but lost the game before that. So, that's three in a row. Three. T h r e e. One plus one plus one.

Oh. I get it. If you're a stupd cow fan then three is an enormous number which about exhausts the limit of your ability to conceive.

The best part about stupd cow is we don't have to make this stuff up because they do it themselves.
