Honestly I think we should be favorites going into this game and that we will win by 2 scores. You look at all UK's points on why they should kill us and I can flip it into a reason we should win

1.We lost our "star" QB. Well if you watched last year his inability to run the ball completely ruined our offensive scheme. Vick is an upgrade this year.

2. we only beat KSU by 3. But they fail to realize that we had 4 fumbles in the game on 4 straight drives and managed to win. That is very impressive. When you turn the ball over 4 times in a game and your D only gives up 14 points. That's a very special group. Plus assuming we don't do that again our offence should be very effective and put up a lot of points. We moved the ball well all game and I expect no change

now grant it was KSU but why are we acting like UK is this big jump in talent. they're not, Yes they recruited well but that means nothing. These kids have won 1 game against a Non D1 school. I'm not expecting to see this top of the line SEC team that handles us. I'm expecting to see a team like Penn State when we beat them. A lower SEC to middle Big 10 team. If we see a team like that we should win no problem.

If the turnover margin doesn't go heavily against us again (which we historically take care of the ball very well) I completely expect to win this game.

Our run defense is simply outstanding.  The more it rains, the more I'll like our chances come tomorrow.

Been catching bits & pieces of "SEC Now" on SECNet.  Gene Chizik on Florida-EMU: Florida's QB should get 300 yds & 3tds "because it's Eastern Michigan."  Somebody also mentioned that they won't have a concrete wall to deal with.

On Toledo-Mizzou: They were impressed with the numbers that Ely put up for Toledo against UNH last week, but one comment was rather SEC chauvinistic: He's a transfer from Alabama, so he can throw the ball (so I guess if he'd transferred from a non-SEC school he couldn't throw the ball?).

Comments I've heard about Ohio have been pretty respectful, but much of the usual stuff we've heard from UK all week: better than UTM; five straight bowls; solid defense.  Sounds like everybody in the SEC gets the same crib sheet about the OOC opponents.  Still, it's good to hear some good things about us; better than dissing EMU got.

SECNet has a Gameday-like show tomorrow at 10 a.m. where they look at all the SEC games. I presume that'll include Ohio-UK.

Was Penn State the last time the Cats played on grass? That worked out pretty well.

Hoping to see Mr. Vick go all Charlie Ward on Kentucky. Anyone remember Charlie, all 6'2' 190 of him?

Kentucky might not be a big leap in talent but they've had their way with the MAC the last several years, including a thrashing of Kent last year, and we remember what Kent did to Ohio last year.  And this Kentucky team is better than last year's.  I predict a Kentucky win, 31-23 (keep in mind, I predicted an Ohio loss last week so hopefully my prediction has the same effect this week!).  GO BOBCATS!!!

Kentucky played Miami last year and Kent in 2012, but yes won over the MAC both years. Here is to breaking that trend, but keeping up the trend of Ohio over UK - GO BOBCATS!!!

OU just got a mini shout out on game day. Talked about how maybe Akron has a chance to go into happy valley and win. then said Ohio did it not too long ago.
Got a good feeling about today

Are Layton and Boland available? Arkley does not mention them as injured in his article.

Solich should pull the team off the field right now. The guy was easily a yard plus short of the endzone. Refs are on the take.

Kentucky's QB Patrick Towles is legit.  Might be the best QB Ohio faces this year, no offense to Mr. Cato at Marshall.  He's definitely faster than our defensive linemen.

Edit: uh yeah, this might just be a better Kentucky football team than they've had the last couple of years.

Daz certainly has not impressed as the starter. Two big drops, not great blocking. Would love to see AJ.

Kentucky's offense, pts/yds-

Q1a- 14pts, 155yds (first two drives)
Q1b- 0pts, 32yds (after first 2 drives)
Q2- 3pts, 88yds
Q3- 3pts, 96yds
Q4- 0pts, 32yds

Defense did its job today, you hold an SEC team to 20pts on the road you've got to like your chances. They've could have folded early but hung strong. The Offense needs experience, we knew that going into it. Confident they'll look much improved next week at Marshall.

We were never really a threat to a team that will likely go 4-8.  Not sure why everyone wants to put the lipstick on this pig of a performance.  D couldnt get off the field when it counted (Third Down) and offense scored 3 pts.

I lay Kentucky's first touchdown to the D-coordinator.  We had them on a third and about eight.  And rushed three guys.  So, no pass pressure...completion leading to first down leading to a reception which was called a TD.

I am really aggrieved that we only rushed three there.  I think that it was the only time that we did it all day on a day on which our D line got really good pressure pretty consistently.

The only other small quibble with the defense was that in the 2nd half we gave up too many runs for yards between the tackles, resulting in a number of first downs for Kentucky--but no points.

In the first half, their qb ran for yards up the middle a number of times ....but I knew we'd stop that--and we did.

Except for that one horrible rush-three-on-third-and-long play, the D was very good.

Our D is holding up ok. I'm a little concerned we have yet to force a turnover. Kent lost today to S Alabama, so it's not like last weeks performance is looking better a week later. And I don't see much reason to be optimistic about our offense. 20 total points in two games. Period. playmakers aren't there. Game 1 was fumbles and today was a lot of really costly drops. I'm very disappointed that we played so nervously in front of a group of half-assed football fans at a basketball school.

Also 4th down and a foot to go on our first decent drive, and we run a passing play with a straight drop back, no run/pass option. That was a killer bad call.
