On the Miami board they’re noting that Miami is successful 42% on third downs -31st in country while only allowing 32% by their opponents . I’m not sure how we do, but we better get them off the field and prevent long drives where they shorten the game. By the way they have a bunch of long plays as well-including that 75 yard TD on their first play last week. This will be a challenge.
According to the MAC website, through six games we convert 37.7% of our 3rd downs while MOFO converts 35.1%. We allow our opponents to convert 33.3% while MOFO allows 43.5%. In MAC play we convert 40% of the time (3rd best in the MAC) while MOFO does 48.1%, tied for best in the league with WMU. We've allowed our opponents to convert only 16% of the time (2nd best) while MOFO is 9th at 40.6%.

Thanks for the real data, the Miami folks are making stuff up, of course that happens here too I guess.

I'm not overly optimistic, but I'm somewhat surprised ESPN's Matchup Predictor is favoring Miami 71%

Since 2001, OU is 10-11 on the road, so that's probably a big factor. 9-4 vs MAC opponents though.
Line has moved to +4

Bets must be rolling in for the weekend.

I'm still surprised it isn't more like 6 or 7. I personally think that Miami's record is mostly a result of schedule. And, while I have more faith in the players with whom we have rebuilt our team, what I said in the preseason still basically holds true. If we couldn't beat them at home, with Kurtis Rourke, Mile Cross, Keye Thompson, and all the other players in the P4 this year, why should we expect to win on the road without them, on the road, against largely the same team that beat us

EMU had some key stats that show they should have beaten MOFO last week. They had a 24-16 edge in first downs, were 44% (8 of 18) on third down compared to MOFO's 33% ( 3 of 0), and had the ball for 34:10. But MOFO scored on some big plays, outgained EMU 421-339, had a slight 2-1 edge in turnovers. and held EMU to one fourth down conversion in four tries.

Gabbert was a very good 10 of 13 passing for 222 yds with 4 TDs and MOFO was 6.4 yds per carry (199 yds on 31 carries). They had a pretty balanced offense last week.

Something about this team has me believing. Albin is a great coach on a mission.

I hope we play our 2nd best game of the year today, save the best for the MAC Championship.

We will see if Parker is used similarly in the run game today. That was the X factor last week and opened so much up. I think a lot of points are in store, hope our D can get some key stops and the offense can keep up.

Miami can’t even fill their stadium for a rivalry game. Sad

Do we need to start a penalty tracker for Doggette?

At least when he gets one, it's a big one.

That was bound to happen with some of the throws he was making. Already got lucky a couple times.

They are dominating in the trenches. In addition, our offense really sucks.

The offense is just so slow, stale, predictable and just not good. It’s been coming and any team with half a decent defense can stop this offense.

All you have to do against our offense is stop the run. We certainly can’t throw a pass 5 yds accurately.
