OFFICIAL: Marty Bannister will do play-by-play for 2024 football, Rob is back for color.

The way they worded it, I would assume men's basketball is still TBD and football in future years may be different.
Yes, based on the headline, looks like Marty stepped up and is filling the role...for now.

And the sun has continued to rise (and burn my lawn) every day. Marty is doing just fine. Some might even prefer his style.

Caught some of his football stuff this week for Western Illinois. Does anyone know what happened here? Did Russ leave or was it not his choice? While he is doing this WI gig, i just wonder because its not like he went right into a new thing.

He'll be missed. Great rep for Ohio and a pro.

It was 100% his choice. I can't speak for Russ. But I'm guessing he has certain broadcast aspirations. After 16 years and at low pay, I think he decided to try a different path.

Thanks Ted. I appreciate the response and am glad to confirm he left on his own terms. He will be missed and I wish him nothing but the best. He earned the respect of Bobcat fans nationwide and he will be great at whatever he chooses.

Just guessing: he might've also wanted to be closer to home for family reasons.

Did anyone listen to the radio broadcast of the JMU game? I tried to hear the pregame show on the Varsity app but it didn't seem to switch over from the Learfield "ready" music.

I did listen to some of the second half on the Varsity app so they had whatever issues they had fixed by then.
