I really don't think Sprague can be blamed. He plays hard. I think he needs better playcalling. Why didn't he run more in the first half? Would have picked up same amount of yards as Daz early on. AND WHY IS BASS STILL IN THE GAME? Now he's talking trash with Davis. Davis is owning him. This is like two years ago when Ivo was playing like crap. Thought he should have been benched but JC kept him in.

Not that I think we will be in a bowl game but at this point we certainly don't belong in one. We beat 3 pretty bad teams and got manhandled by an average one and crushed by Marshall.

Too little, too late. And Miami finally got a win because of a really stupid UMass coaching decision.

Unfortunately I foresee a long losing streak starting with today.

Shows that CMU is a two-player team. Without Rawls or Davis, they aren't much.

Thought it was bush of Enos to have Rawls in the game with 2:45 to go. But from what we've seen elsewhere, the guy doesn't have much class.

Without AJ, our offense is really non-dimensional. He makes the opposition respect the run so the passing game can work.

Gotta give a lot of credit to our D today. When the other team has the ball for more than 40 minutes, you'd expect a lot bigger score. 28 isn't bad considering the lack of offense. Plus they set up the offense at the CMU 5 and all we could get was three.

Concerned about Johnson. He was on crutches with a boot in the 4th quarter.

Got tickets for BG next week, but not really expecting much. The offense has to put a lot together in a week.

I thought the reverse to start the game was okay (shoulda kept going wide instead of ducking inside). I thought the 2nd play--Daz on some sort of jet-sweep was incredibly bad. Award-winning bad. That play hasn't worked all year. Why even think of running it. Seriously, I'd like the coaches to answer. Why?

On their first drive of the 2nd half, they ran a screen for about 17 on a third and 10--we looked totally unprepared for it. I sense that play marked the end of our season. Redhawk will probably beat us--they score a lot. Then, later that drive, we gave them the 15 yard td run on third and about 10. Apparently we were not informed that Rawls is their star running back so would have to be stopped and that 84 is their star receiver so should have been guarded.

It's truly impressive how wide open the oppo's wide receivers are against us all the time. And we do nothing to react to that?!

On their 2nd TD (the 20 yard pass), they had a guy lined up in the slot on the left and we didn't have a guy within 10 yards of him. I presume that he caught the td ?? If we missed an assignment, couldn't someone have called a time out before the play got off?

I apologize. I significantly over-rated us.

We are in DESPERATE need of d-line help.

We can still be a team that pulls an upset. But it will take the coaching staff recognizing that we just have to GO FOR IT! We can't be content running up the middle every time. Where's the little pass to a receiver in the middle of the field for a quick 4 or 5 yard catch? Sprague clearly cannot air it out. And Daz is electric at times but clearly cannot be an every down back. Once again, with Ouelette and then next year Trae Williams, why is Irons not an option?

better play calling isn't going to fix JD's inability to complete a forward pass beyond 5 yards.

as for Bass, he was still in the game because Ian Wells didn't even make the trip. Devin Jones got injured and I believe Well's backup was injured too. There was nobody left. We didn't lose this game because of Devin Bass.

I agree with perimeter here. JD can do some nice things, but he isn't a very accurate quarterback and Central Michigan took advantage of it. They dared him to throw with pressure on him. It left single coverage on guys like Cochran, who had a step on the defense several times, but Sprague could only get it to him the one time.

Bass had pretty good coverage on a couple of the passes Davis caught and no help, and Ohio didn't really have a choice but to play him anyway. The secondary is thin right now. Hopefully linebacker won't be, too. Johnson's injury seemed bad and Brown supposedly was tested for a concussion.

It just seems the opposition's big player(s) always have big days on us.

Today, we knew that their running back and receiver are their guys. But they did what they wanted to on us.

Over the last 26 games or so (from the redhawk loss in 2012) our record against good teams or in key games is poor.

10 years under Coach and we have no MAC title. In fact, the one MAC title game we were close to winning is emblematic--weren't we up 20-0 at half before we got sooooooooooooooooooo conservative and lost 23-30.

Something has to change, something significant.

And the fact that we've gone to five straight bowl games and been in some MAC title games doesn't in any way excuse what we now are.

I think people are forgetting that we've won only five games in 30 tries vs CMU. For some reason, they've got our number. Maybe Cutler Hall was built on Chippewa land, I don't know. But the fact is WE HARDLY EVER BEAT THESE GUYS, NO MATTER WHO'S COACHING, NO MATTER WHO'S QB, NO MATTER THE WEATHER. We lost another game to CMU. That's life. Let's move on.

+1 This also applies to Toledo, but they are not on the schedule.
