Random thoughts:

We should not be at a point where was have to play so many freshman. Clearly, something went wrong a couple years in the recruiting cycle. What? I don't know.

Honestly, I think what makes this year's "rebuilding" harder is the fact last year was such a disappointment (makes me think: Rebuilding from what?).

The strengthen of the team (defense) is not nearly as good as I thought they would be at the beginning of the season. (I need to start lowering my optimism)

I remember in 2008, Brian Kelly had to play 4 different QBs due to injuries and his UC team still made it to a BCS game with his "next man up" attitude. I could not even think about how ugly Ohio games would look if we got down to our 4th QB.

As for our "star" RB recruit not playing. I'm glad, behind this offensive line...it would not help in developing what every talent he may have. .

I've thought a lot about the deterioration of Tyler Tettleton's attitude last year and wondered why Frank put up with it. The only explanation I can come up with is that TT and Albin got sideways on offensive strategy and Frank agreed with Tyler to some extent. Why else would he keep him out there? And perhaps the hiring of Ipshording as "co-offensive coordinator" was meant as a signal to Albin that Frank indeed thought there was some validity to TT's complaints.

We have about enough information, none, that speculation will only reflect our own personal biases, bent or agenda. I would not speculate.

Agreed. Wasn't trying to point out last years problems just saying that before last year started we could have pointed to this year and called it a rebuilding year. The results of last year is what's making it so difficult to bear

Let me also take this opportunity to say that though my pre-season predictions were for a much better season, I thought even then in the back of my mind that this would be a season where we might start out poorly because of all the youth -- especially on the OL ad in the offensive backfield. However, when I make pre-season predictions for OHIO, I always do a "best case" scenario. Hey, as a recovering Cubs fan, I know how to be optimistic in the face of evidence to the contrary! :-)

I'd like to know if I'm missing something, because it doesn't seem to be just Daz who does this, but we have a habit of punt returners not knowing when to get the hell away from the ball when it starts bouncing. As a punt returner, you either have to commit to catching that ball in the air or GET THE !@#$ AWAY FROM IT! Is there a coaching angle I'm missing here? What possible good can come from dancing around an unpredictable bouncing oblong when all it has to do is graze your uniform to turn into a very costly turnover?

Per Arkley, Coach Solich says that Daz is his man on KR/PR, no change at this time.
