Wow. Obviously, I am glad i went to the game! Both the Bball and Fball teams put on a nice show tonight. Gotta give it to the Fball guys. I admit, I am one who said earlier they'd never score 17 then on this thread said they wouldn't score 35. Tonight they proved me wrong and i will admit it.

Got just two negatives:

First, was that really a veteran coaching staff that completely screwed up at the end of the half? 1st and 10 on the 19 and we mess up not one but two time outs, get sacked and are knocked out of at least 3 points. Then we just punt it into the end zone to end the half. That was rookie coaching.

Second, we better do a lot better in the red zone than we did tonight. Left way too many points off the board and were actually, I think, lucky to have Vick run one in then Brown late in the game. The offense still has me scratching my head but I guess i am not the only one.

All n all, it was a fun night. In the Convo again then sitting in the rain. I do have to admit, I stayed AFTER the half but left when we got to 37!

Getting 37 points (4tds and 3fgs) on seven trips to the red zone isn't too shoddy. We maybe missed out on four points when we got only a fg after starting on Buffalo's 17 following their guy stepped in front of the snap on the punt.

I also was confused about what they were doing at the end of the half. You can run a play with nine seconds left and not leave much time for them, even on a pass play. The way we were defending, there was no way they could score on a hail Mary.

The two negatives I had from last night were the fumbles (Buffalo got all 14 points off them) and the hang time on Bonnstetter's punts. They were mostly line drives and didn't give the coverage team much opportunity to get downfield. But, if that's all I can complain about, I'm not unhappy.

To be fair, one of those line drive punts was muffed, setting up our first td

Once we were sacked, we were out of field goal range. I thought we would take a timeout with about two seconds left and throw our own Hail Mary. Evidently, Frank felt like maybe we could down the punt at the one with some time left and force Buffalo to run a play, possibly resulting in a safety.

This win is looking better after what Buffalo is doing so far tonight against Akron. Doesn't look like they have mailed it in like they did in our game.

I don't think they mailed it in last week. Our guys were just so damned fired up and executed so well that Buffalo couldn't do squat.

I sort of agree with you, but if you look at the "Solid" thread, by my count 7 posters on that thread indicated just that.

Who really knows who mailed what in. In last year's version of this game did Ohio mail it in or was Buffalo just that much better?

It is pretty hard to compare one game against another in this league. Almost every week some team looks like they mailed it in. At some point those teams probably did just go through the motions.

The amount of green tint in our glasses has a lot to do with the perception.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but it was 7 out of 22, which means that's not the majority view. I agree with those who said Buffalo had quit in them last week, but it really didn't show until the third or fourth quarter.

Anyone who watched us against Beefs last year or watched Beefs against us this year and thought that they were seeing much effort or hope needs to see an ophthalmologist and should cease driving immediately.

Someone posted that the MAC East is the worst division in college football. I don't see how anyone could argue with that.

This week vs Akron the Beefs rushed for 300+ yards. Taylor for 178, Johnson for 104. One Week ago the Beefs were only able to manage 61 rushing as a team. Taylor now has 1,229 rushing on the season, he managed 44 a week ago. Akron leads the MAC in Scoring Defense and is second in total defense. Guess this was Akron's week to mail it in, huh. Wait, do teams that lead conferences in defense mail it in?
