Pelini will be osu's DC next year. The wife's osu-homer relatives were talking about it this past week. Everyone wants Fickell gone. Their speculation was Muschamp, but Pelini makes too much sense for it not to be him.

I wouldn't be opposed to Bo taking over after Frank retires.

That might be a good plan. The only hitch is that he would probably make a lot more as a Defensive Coordinator for a top program than he would as a Head Coach at Ohio. I guess it depends what is important to him.

None of those other guys pulled the crap Bo pulled on his school and it's fan base. Winning is not everything, nor isit the only thing! Bo's record against ranked teams was also abysmal!

I think you are right that he was fired was more for non-coaching issues. I think he was learning as he went, and improving as a coach, but he was never the most diplomatic person.

Not being a follower of Nebraska, I'll have to plead ignorance on this one. I'm sure I could look it up but I'll take your word for it that his actions/behavior aren't in line with positions I've taken in the past and therefore will defer to that it's more than a record.

As for winning JSF, you are right, it is percentage that I put more stock in because of expanding schedules today. That's why I'll take Jim Brown as my all time best NFL running back based on his yards per carry average in excess of 5.

Seriously, at the core I would guess that he didn't have a good working relationship with his AD.

hmm . . . lots of jerks in the coaching profession. and I've yet to see one fired solely for being one. If a jerk is winning he'll be tolerated for years -- unless he goes beyond mere jerkhood and does something nearly criminal, like punching an opposing player, putting a badly performing player in an isolation chamber, paying a recruit under the table, committing perjury about tattoos [ha-ha], etc.

Citing articles from 2010 proves he was not fired for being a jerk. As stated above, he was fired for being a jerk who didn't win enough. The old saying, "his act wore thin" simply means his results were not worth the baggage.

Oh, there is plenty more things out there, I just didn't feel like spending an entire :30 seconds. And not all those were old. When the guy calls out Nevraska legends and insults fan bases, don't be surprised when he's fired. His record against good teams is abysmal

Never said I was surprised he was fired - not sure where you got that impression. I am fully aware of his behavior - and have been for years. Point is winning makes up for behavior. Had he won the conference and taken them to major bowls, all would be forgiven. He was not fired because of his behavior. He was fired because his record (especially against quality opponents) and habit of getting blown out was not worth his attitude and antics.
