You've countered every point you've tried to make.

Go OHIO!
How do you know what points I was trying to make if I countered them??? Are you sure my points weren't the ones I used to counter my first points??

You confuse me!!

...Ohio's QBs suck ass. The only thing that kept Ohio in a game against one of the worse teams in D1 is the defense once they went to man coverage.

For what it's worth, Ohio's defense did not "go to man coverage". They were constantly changing up the coverage all night, and I was loving it. They used a lot of cover-2, cover-4, and often used a mix, cover-2 on one side, cover-4 on the other. They also used a variety of stunts and blitzes. Once they wore down the Miami offensive line, Miami was unable to move the ball at all. The Miami QB was confused by the constantly changing coverages, and the variety of places the blitzes came from. I saw MLB blitzes, OLB blitzes, S blitzes and CB blitzes.

As far as the game, I think this was just what the doctor ordered. This team has suffered from one thing all year. They played well at times, but lacked confidence. They often got behind, and while they fought hard, they never could come back and win if they fell very far behind. BG was a perfect example of that. In a win like this, a team grows a lot, and they then believe that they can come from behind.

If this is the last game of the year, so be it. They get to end on a comeback performance by the offense, and a truly dominating performance by the defense. If they do, for some unknown reason, get invited to a bowl, they can hopefully build on this, and play well in the bowl.

My last name is Wood. I've been called Woody for at least 40+ years. If you'd like I can spell it out for you....W....O....O....D....(Y).

Do I need to explain to you how people decided to call me Woody??
When did Monroe change his screen name?

I guess we'll see them in the national championship game then.

Does this kind of nonsense get posted on here a lot?

Ehhh, you guys are right. That was a great game with great game calling and expert execution on the part of the coaches.

Sorry. I was so wrong.
No worries, even the less educated can come to their senses every now and then. The first step is acknowledging your limitations.
So when will you be doing that?? Or haven't you come to your senses yet??
Curious. Are you an Ohio alum? If yes, what was your graduation year? Your major?

This. Rushing Hendrix with blitzes really rattled him and he started missing on his throws. I wish we hadn't spotted them three touchdowns before getting to business, but that adjustment was a turning point.

Don't get me wrong fellas...I tried to stir and it worked.

I will be following Ohio University and hope they do develop into a much better program than what I saw tonight.

I saw the talent. It's there and in place.

But the reality is they barely squeaked by in beating a 2-9 (2-10 now) team. And had they stayed with the first half game plan they would have been blasted.

Lots of opportunity for improvement in the offensive coaching department, starting with the QBs and ending with the play calling and game planning.

Just my simple minded opinion....and I know you all don't know me or what I know or don't know....but you will.

Brainwashed bro who was born in a state who "thinks" he needs to root for a school he's never taken a class from.

Typical.

Not an Ohio alum....I guess I'm not allowed to mention the school that I purchased a sheep skin from on this message board.;) And it should be evident that I'm an ME as writing and english classes were not my forte'.

Oh crap...I just realized...a lot of teachers buy their credentials from OU...don't they.

Sorry...with what I do...grammar and english are not a big requirement, so my apologies to all the teachers out there.

Close games happen in rivalry games. Even if the one of the teams is outmatched. That's the beauty of them, you never know what will happen. We need too look no further for another example of this then your buckeyes last game against Michigan last year. Not a good team and yet OSU "squeaked" by them.

Very good. Point taken. Touche'...or is it tushy?

As an OU beginner fan I did not realize the size of the rivalry with Miami. If it is similar to that of tOSU and the team up north then I understand.

I will place this in it's proper place in memory.

Yes, it's a huge rivalry, and there have been some strange results in games between the two. In 2007, after clinching the Mac East, Miami had to play Ohio, and lost, making Miami bowl ineligible after they lost to CMU in the Championship. In 2012, a 7-0 Ohio team, which had beaten Miami 6 straight times, lost to a Miami team that finished 4-8.

Any win over Miami is a good win.

The 2012 loss taught me to hate Miami. I honestly had no ill-will toward them because they really never gave me much of a reason to hate them in football. (In basketball, Charlie was unhatable to me.)

Again, there is no appreciation of the effort Miami put forth. They had extra prep time for Ohio and they obviously used it wisely. Thankfully the game is four quarters.

Thank God my son got into town tonight and after the first Miami TD, I had to miss the rest of the first half. Did watch the second half and I am very happy for this team and staff on the win. They really did do better than i thought they would this year.

On the other hand, two points: first, why were we not ready to play in the first half? I know props to miami but seriously? A Bowl on the line? Our top rival? They with a shit record? I just don't get how you can be that flat. Second, it is true I guess our wins were pretty much over teams in the 100s. So, yes, we do need to get a lot better going forward to get anywhere near where we were a few years ago.

At least in a down year, we beat the teams that we "should" beat. It could have been a lot worse. Thanks team for not giving up.
