If Larscheid brings in "his boy" Johns anyway after this result, I will easily start thinking twice about Slade's integrity. Seriously.
Pretty big leap to question the integrity of somebody you don't know, isn't it? Especially when you weren't involved in the interview process. There could be tons of valid reasons to hire Johns after interviewing all candidates. Pretty rash to jump immediately to integrity issues with the AD.
No, it's not a big leap to question the integrity of an AD if he can't see what just happened in the Frisco Bowl.

Many people picked UNLV to crush us. That didn't happen. Who gets the credit for that? John Hauser, the rightful next Head Coach.

I know what the word "integrity" is all about. I don't mess around with that word.

Agree to disagree. I'd prefer Hauser, too. But the decision shouldn't be made solely based on winning a meaningless bowl game, and acting like any other option is so crazy that it could only be interpreted as a moral failing of the AD is pretty irrational.
Just because the game was meaningless to you doesn’t make that so for everybody else. Were you there? Did you see the players reactions to the victory ? Get lost!

+1. To me last night's performance was as good as I've seen in years as far as tackling and overall effort.

Oops I think it was STV that said the game was meaningless… It sure wasn’t to the players!

That’s what happens when you get old. You can’t figure these things out when people include all those previous posts. Anyway, I can go back to saying shame on shame. That game may not have made any difference to him, but I’m sure it made a lot of difference to the players.

I don't mind people disagreeing with me. Totally okay with that. It's healthy to have disagreements.

But it's piss poor negative attitudes - such as one-line posts like this that you feel like you need to post to prove something - that make this message board sometimes not worth it.

Billy, all you ever do is disagree with my posts the moment you read them. Instead of ignoring my posts, you keep doubling down. You have to get the last word in.

There were reasons why I held back from even posting here before I joined earlier this year. Posts like yours are one reason.

If we don’t hire Hauser as the next head coach then I don’t know what our future may hold. The guy is from the area and the players and coaches are actively campaigning for him to get the job. If they hire out of the building I fear the players and coaches won’t respond well and it could blow up everything that has been built the last 4 years.

What was built over the last 20 years won't last forever. Look at schools like Nebraska or UCLA for good examples of that. You start turning over all the players, all the coaches, and all the culture, you have to build something new from scratch. Will it be better, or will it be worse? All I can say is that if the AD elects to do that, and it doesn't work, the fans will blame him. It's not necessarily a question of integrity, but rather, a very questionable judgement, choosing risk over safety.

If you watched or attended that bowl game with UNLV, then you know that it wasn't a "meaningless game" to the staff, fans and the players. Those players were focused and fired up! The D held UNLV to 10 points. That was by far the fewest points the Rebels have scored all season. Great win over a ten win program. When the Bobcat basketball program played in the CBI tourney about ten years ago vs Albany or Morehead State were those games meaningless? How about the hoops games vs Miami Hamilton or UC Clermont? Are those games meaningless? These contests are certainly not meaningless to the participants.
