That has been my view since we ended 6-6. Hopefully this light a fire and gets em going for next year.

I was holding out hope that we would make it to a bowl, but pretty much everything went wrong for us today.

Marshall won, and Boise State is taking care of Fresno State 21-0 at halftime. There goes NIU's chance of making an access bowl.

O$U is having their way with Wisconsin. That kills any chance of three B1G teams being selected for the access bowls and letting us slip into their unfulfilled Quick Lane Bowl spot.

Plus, Oklahoma State and Temple won, adding to the list of 6-6 teams.

The only hope I have is that one of the MAC bowls thinks we are more appealing than CMU, despite their better record and head-to-head victory over us. These bottom-tier bowls care more about ratings than which teams deserve to be there, so there's a chance they think we would draw more viewers than CMU (probably true). ESPN owns the Boca Raton, Camellia, and Potato Bowls, and we had three MACtion games vs. zero for CMU, so you never know.

I give us about a 0.01% chance of being selected tomorrow.

I sometimes wonder about the thought process of some on this board...even me. Our season has been over since the Miami game.

This is our chance. Money is what matters for these bowls. A lotof times, this hurts us. In this case, that helps us.

6-6 Ohio for bigger $ vs. 7-5 CMU who beat Ohio.

In some hope springs eternal. They are the ones who, at church today, will sign up for the fund raiser, get there early, set up the tables, stay to the end, put the tables away, smiling the whole time. You know the ones who when they get finished will come over to help you. You know the ones you want with you when it is time to get something done. You know the guy, the one at the Legion meeting with the broken arm, who still grabs the broom after to help clean up. The thought process is about what we are doing and making what we are doing work. I am definitely not talking about the guy who decides when the tables are nearly all set up that they need to run the other way. Not the guy who missed the work, but after will tell everyone how it should have been done better.

If Ohio has the slenderest of chances to snag a bowl, it could come down to the "boredom quotient." That is, which among 6-6 teams might sell a few more tickets than others and put on a performance that will keep TV viewers tuned in and perhaps watching ads.

I can think of one 6-6 team that defines boredom: Temple. A virtually imperceptible fan base. And a team virtually incapable of scoring: over its last 7 games, Temple averaged 12.3 pts.

Word on the street is that MAC is going to push to move NIU up the Bowl ladder and slide OHIO in. Cats still practicing so I'd say someone knows something.

I feel like we're gonna get one again. Somehow our "friends" in the MAC seem to pull strings that favor Ohio. Last year Toledo got shafted with us getting in and them not going, but I feel like we'll sneak into one again. Not sure which one, but I think we'll get one of them.

That could push Ohio into the Camelia Bowl if NIU landed in Ft. Worth. Montgomery is a 1 day drive from Athens. Ft. Worth if it happens wouldn't be bad because DFW has cheap airfare. Pricing around $230 for New Year's Day weekend.

Only in the MAC could such confusion reign.

I think there is a big difference between reality and hope.

But, I will be glad to so "boy was I stupid on this one" if the Bobcats pull out a Bowl this season!

For me Ohio's getting to a bowl would just add to the long list of stupids...

I guess we can put this string to bed for a year. Mike, I guess I am not stupid after all when it comes to Bowl games. I guess it also shows anyone can get lucky once in a while and be right:)

With any luck, from time to time for at least a few more years, I'll stumble on one of those acorns missed by blind squirrels.
