Ball State is a win-by-Maction sort of team. In conference games only, they lead the MAC in points per game, total offense, and passing yards per game. On the other hand, they have given up a large number of yards and points. The offense has kept them close in every game.

I expect a battle. Stating the obvious, Ohio will try to punish Ball State with a heavy dose of Tyus, etc, and keep the ball away from Ball. The defense will be tested, but I believe they can at least slow Ball State down. Remember that Ohio has not won in games where they have given up more than 25 points, while Miami is the only MAC team that has held Ball State to under 25 points (Miami won 27-21). I'm going to call this one Ohio 24, Ball State 21.

Good news... "bad weather" could be a benefit to us.

Bad news... Ball State's new interim is a Ball State alum, current OFFENSIVE LINE COACH who said this was his dream job. They're probably gonna be jacked to play for him. A win vs OU could secure him as their new head coach.

Want to be in Athens for this game. Don’t think I want to sit in 70% chance of precipitation though. Hoping the weather moves out.

Defense needs to suffocate the Balls Tate offense and let the ground and pound do its thing on offense

We're a week out. That forecast will change 78 times.

That’s pretty much the guy they fired, too.

I expect they'll be more jacked for Saturday's game vs BG, since it's their last home game of the season and they're celebrating their 100th season with recognition of their All-Century Team.

I will be fascinated to see what BSU does this weekend. I wanna see how they respond to the coaching change. If BGSU stomps BSU then the Cardinals will probably be demoralized against Ohio on the road particularly after a coaching change.

That being said, BSU can fly high as a cardinal and i dont think it will matter.
What i love about this team and what they showed against teams like Kent State is they have great player leadership. Navarro, Owen, Taylor, Leake, Parodie, Johnson, Pearson, etc are not going to allow a letdown. Ohio will be ready to play. If Toledo couldn't stop this running game for two quarters, BSU wont either.

OHIO had quite a lot of penalties against Toledo that I am sure the coaching staff will be looking to clean up leading up to this game. So I think another key to this game is to not let us beat ourselves either.

Agree. Love this team’s resilience and leadership. They truly fight for every inch. They say that they ‘bring the juice’. Love that. Y’all in Athens need to bring juice boxes to the game. I bet they’d love that.

It looked like Albin was sucking on a juice box in the "We love football" clip!

I saw that also but at first I thought he was sucking on a vape! I swear it looked like that and I gasped for a split second before seeing it was a juicebox.

Someone needs to donate a few cases of juice boxes to the OZone and the band.

The timing of this game (Friday after Thanksgiving) will seemingly present some challenges to get a crowd as big as our guys deserve. Most students will be out of town and I assume the band will either not participate or at least not be at full strength. It may take an extra effort from our “die hard fans” (this board) to make up the difference in what is essentially a league championship playoff game. Hopefully the athletic department has some promotional ideas as well.

The department does a pretty damn good job of promoting games - in most sports.

You're still holding out for a personal shuttle, I presume? And if they do pick you up, do they need to sign you out?

That's a terrible promotion idea, OCF. 😀

They didn't do that this year. Which is a shame.

The email for the game is highlighting that tickets start at just $10. A good Black Friday promotion, IMHO, would've tied in some of the businesses either uptown or out on State with a proof-of-purchase from the game or perhaps a coupon/voucher for said businesses at the game. But, I don't work there...

It takes 2 to run a promo like that. Who says they didn't try?

Thanks for the validation. For an old, retired dude way up here in Chicagoland, I do pay attention.

Taking my dog to Peden would be a dream. But it's a long drive. And he gets very concerned about reactions during football games. Either way, I will be there and Pagoda-ing pregame.
