I updated the recruiting rankings in my post above to include the 2015 rankings. Now, here's a slightly updated still way-too-early depth chart for 2015:

LT - McQueen RSr, Lowery So, Dudziak RFr
LG - Lucas RSr, Cooper R-Jr, Anderson R-So
C - Powell RSr, Pruehs So
RG - Wood RSo, Gibbons RJr, Langenkamp RFr.
RT - Watson RJr, McCray So
TE - Mangen Jr, Morgan RSo, Boland RJr, Carter R-Jr
QB - Vick RSr, Sprague RJr, Windham RJr, Duckworth RFr
RB - Ouellette So, Patterson Sr, Brown RSo, White RFr, Irons RFr
WR/F - Reid, RJr, Dixon RSr, Sawyer RSr, J.Brown RSo
WR/X - S.Smith Jr, Walker So,
WR/Z - Cope RSo, Brunis So, Meyer RFr

DE - Basham Jr, Berger RFr
DE - Laseak RJr, Smart RSo
NG - Tautuaiki SR, Aloese RSo, Porter RSo
DT - Sayles Jr, Purdum RSr, Kuhar RFr
MLB - Poling RSo, Grillot RSo, Dicillo RFr, Freuauf RFr
WLB - B Brown RJr, C Moore RSo, Donovan RJr
SLB - Johnson RSr, Daugherty RSo,
CB - Layton Sr, Bass RSr, Fox RFr
CB - Wells RSr, Brunson So. Gunnels RFr
SS - Nelson, So, Carpenter, RSr, Quallen RSo, Macer RSr
FS - Jones RSr, T. Davis R Jr, Scipio RJr, Cunningham RSo, Howell Fr

K - Yazdani RSr, Amicone RJr
P - Bonnstetter Sr
LS - Miller Sr

I'm sure that the above still has some serious issues, especially since I have no clue who is doing better than whom in practice. I'm just trying to get players listed in the right positions, and then guess from who played last year what order they belong in.

Edit - Deleted a couple players that are no longer on the roster
The 2014 two deep offense & defense depth charts for Ohio vs NIU reflected Ohio was much younger, 18 Jr/Sr for Ohio vs 26 for NIU. This is 41% vs 59%. If the above two deep pans out Ohio in 2015 would field 26 Jr/Sr, the same number NIU fielded last season. Much better. I am sure a more in depth review could be made scoring Srs 4 down to Fr 1, but I would leave that for anyone who loves numbers more than I.
Sorry. But I find this type of analysis (two deep depth chart--really?!) to have very little to do with winning and MACC.

Do they award the national championship or any other honor at all on this basis?

There are a couple reasons for talking about the two-deep in the off-season. One is that it gives us something to talk about. The other is that it gives us some idea what to expect. If someone doesn't care what the team might look like come fall, that's up to them.

OK, here's a depth chart:
http://tinyurl.com/ovmor2v
Is it real? Accurate? Real accurate? I don't know. They kept the depth chart pretty up to date throughout the year last year, and this one has a few wrinkles in it that indicates they have a clue. For example, they moved Pruehs from LG to C, which they wouldn't do if they were just winging it. Therefore, I'm going to stay it is probably pretty close. How does it compare to where we were?

Mine goes more than two deep, so that's one difference. Others:
1. They don't have Wood on the depth chart. Perhaps he hasn't recovered? In any case, they have Anderson as the starter at LG.
2. They shuffled the WR around a bit, which isn't surprising. Swap S.Smith and Reid and swap Brunis and Sawyer.
3. My DL is all wrong. Move Sayles back to SDE and Laseak back to WDE, and move Porter to DT.
4. There is a newcomer on the list at SLB. This depth chart shows Marcus Collins, a one-year transfer from Iowa as the backup behind Johnson.
5. Swap sides for Bass and Brunson
6. My depth chart at Safety was a mess, but we knew that. Move Jones to SS, ahead of Nelson, and take Macer from SS and move him to the starter at FS.

My offense was pretty close, but the defense was pretty far off on the defensive line and at Safety, but those were the two positions where I had the most questions. We may see more shuffling around at those two positions before the season starts.

I still have hopes to see more of Mr. Wood. The depth is impressive. So many starts returning. I would love to see an update of ht/wt data. Is Murdock still 267. is Dudziak still 250? What might Mr. Sayles be up to?

A few reported changes to the team (http://www.athensmessenger.com/blogs/bobcat_blog/michigan...):

TE Brennan Boland is no longer on the roster, neither is walk-on safety LaShawn Sanders.

Ohio picked up Michigan graduate transfer Keith Heitzman, who apparently earned 3 letters with the Wolverines while mostly playing as a defensive end. He's listed as a tight end for Ohio.

Also new on the roster are TE Matt Yoho, presumably a walk-on; LB Austin Clack, who is taking Glasco's spot; and a pretty highly rated punter Michael Farkas, who is line to replace Bonstetter after this year.

Arkley noted Glasco is going to play Jireh Prep in North Carolina.

Austin Clark and Heitzman are new names. Yoho has been on the roster a long time, at least dating back to February 23, and this thread:
http://tinyurl.com/qhuu6b9

As for Farakas, there is more information on him in this June thread, on the recruiting page:
http://tinyurl.com/newyx8j

Glasco has said that he's still committed to Ohio, so I guess we should add him to the 2016 class?

Here's a picture of Austin Clack:

A name that hasn't been mentioned, either as showing up for sure, or as being absent is another late addition, Addrell Taylor. I guess there is a roster out, since Arkley has seen it, so they'll probably update the version on the web before too long.

I remembered the punter being mentioned before but Arkley just now pointed him out. Obviously he should be key to the future. It's good to see we have a talented guy taking Boland's place at tight end.

Mr Heitzman just might be the H back MAC DEs & LBs will hate. At least he will add a TE who will be able to step in with 54, 67 & 75 to give Ohio C to TE all RS SRs all with lots of starts and experience. If it is not the Xs & Os but the Moe's & the Joe's, then, Ohio's coaches just got smarter. Third and short, will Ohio be predictable? How about some three TE sets, two TE with a TE at H back?

Will Keith Heitzman report to Athens or Columbus for fall camp? You know those Michigan guys are very confused about who the real OHIO is, except for the basketball team that got taught a lesson a few years ago that they probably still remember. ;-)

I posted this in the recruiting board, but I really like the addition of Heitzman. His blocking ability should add to what is already a very solid rushing attack. Speaking of that, any insight on how our backs are going to split carries? I've never felt this good about so many backs at Ohio all at once, assuming everyone is healthy... AND they have a good line in front. Despite Monroe's best efforts to quell excitement, I am excited.

Football did get a preferred walk-on LB Austin Clack from Tippecanoe. Trained/recommended by same guy that sent them Ouellette. Hoping for similar outcome.

Official pre-season depth chart, per Arkley's twitter from MAC Media Day.

https://twitter.com/JasonAmessenger/status/62638713081054...

No QB starter declared, Wood starting at RG, Bass is back to second string behind Layton, and Carpenter nowhere to be found.

As it's been the last few years, the depth chart isn't too definitive. A lot of "ORs" listed.

The depth chart I found online( http://tinyurl.com/ovmor2v )was actually very close. The major differences:
1. Sayles moved to DT, which moves Berger up onto the chart, and allows Purdum to split between DT and NG
2. Reverse Davis and Macer at FS
3. Alcorn is the backup at LG, not Cooper
4. Wood is officially back, and the starter at RG!

As for QB, I'm not buying that Vick isn't really the clear starter.

But not surprising. That was basically what Solich said at the end of the spring, and there hasn't been anything going on that could change that. Hopefully it's settled within a week or so of practice starting.

We're about a month away from the season starting. If they haven't made a decision by now, I don't know why it would be decided within a week. This is Vick's team. It has to be.

A month away but no practices have been held, so the only evidence for that is previous game results and spring practice, and Vick barely took part in spring practice. Right or wrong, they weren't completely sure last year, so how could they be sure now?

That, right there, is probably the reason for the way it is listed on the depth chart.
