If I were one of the local bookstores/t-shirt shops, I'd offer an Ohio State buy-Buck promo. Turn in your OSU gear for discounts on Ohio gear.

As depressing as Alan's encounter was, I submit it was worse in the 80s. At least now you can see Bobcats and other MAC games on Cable. There is a dedicated student following and of course us old grizzled "seasoned" alums who always back the team.
I can still remember going uptown after a sparsely attended game at Peden only to be grilled by others as to why my friends and me were at the game. They were watching the Buckeyes and other high profile teams on TV.
The most depressing was the 1986 NIT basketball game where too many students went to the game to cheer for the Buckeyes. While Alan's encounter was depressing, it has taken us many years to climb up the mountain (thanks to better Cable TV exposure) to get to where we are today.
