That looks like a game vs. redhawk in oxford.

But couldn't be because there appear to be over 100 fans dressed in red there.

Yes, but in examining the entire film I was unable to see any of the red-clad fans that appeared to be cheering or making noise of any kind. They appear to be standing stoically, as if they were fulfilling some sort of expected social duty, rather than actually enjoying themselves, and certainly none of them seem to be having "fun". It might be Miami.

(plus a lot of Harden, Davidson, and #noflyzone )
After watching that video, the first word that came to mind was "fun." I had fun watching and clearly the Bobcats had fun during that win.

Unlike those red-clad fans in the last video, the green clad fans in this one are making noise, and having fun:

I remember watching this game via BG's webcast. It was worth it.

That BG game was typical MACtion, with Ohio winning 44-37. That got me wondering, how has Solich fared in games involving MACtion? My guess was that, with his orientation towards rushing offense, and rushing defense, he has fared well in low scoring games, but not so well in high scoring games. What I found surprised me.

Defining MACtion games as ones where both teams have over 30 points, Solich between 2005 and 2007 Solich was 2-3 in MACtion-style games, beating Kent in 05 and EMU in 07, while losing to Wyoming, Toledo, and Akron in 07. That was about what I expected to find. That was not at all what I found since 2007, though. From 2008-2013 Ohio is 10-1 in MACtion-type games:
51-31 W over VMI '08
49-42 W over Akron '08
31-30 W over NTSU '09
44-37 W over BG '09
38-31 W over NIU '09
38-31 W over La-La '10
37-38 L to Buffalo '11
35-31 W over Temple '11
37-34 W over UMass '12
38-31 W over Buffalo '12
34-31 W over Marshall '13

If you want to throw out VMI since it wasn't close, he's still 9-1 in games decided by 7 or less, where both teams have over 30 points. Who knew?

But, L.C., the win over Marshall in '13 doesn't count, because it wasn't a win over a MAC team with a winning record. You got choose your data points more carefully! ;-)

This had nothing to do with winning records or MAC teams. I was just curious if Ohio has been able to outscore other teams when both teams were moving the ball and scoring a lot of points, and it came down to who scored last. My gut said no, but apparently the answer is yes. I guess I still have the '07 Toledo and Akron games in my head.

But, don't you understand, you're just being a toady for the Frank regime. ;-) You should not bring up anything that shows the OHIO coaching staff might occasionally know what they are doing, particularly within the last two and half years.

This is still probably one of my favorite broadcasts of Ohio football I've ever watched. Even better was all of the hype and trash talking by Owl fans before the game. T3 was a master at the option fake and threw some pretty passes in cold weather. And the crowd was loud for being small IIRC.

That was a great game, and T3 was awesome that day, going 17-21 for 324 yards with 3 TDs, and and running for 69 yards and 2 more TDs on 6 carries. That's the highest completion percentage for any game with 20 or more attempts (.810), the second highest yards/attempt in Ohio history, #3 in total offense for a single game, and #2 in "most TDs accounted for".

Today, here's a threefer. Three different looks at the 2009 season:

Unfortunately the last one, which has probably the best action shots, has been muted.

Now if Mr. Basham can duplicate the play of Mr. Scott, this year's D could be special.

This thread needs more 110.

Few things send a chill up my spine like the cadence when the drum line marches onto the field pregame. Because you know what's coming next.

"LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAADDDDIIIIEEEEEEEESSSSSS AND GENTLEMENNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN....."

My favorite: Long Train

My 3 year old's favorite: Gangnam Style

(Not kidding...that is his favorite youtube video in the universe. He knows the entire routine, but like most 3 year olds is entirely uncooperative when I try to video him doing it.)

Something seems wrong here. It says "Homecoming 2014", but the stands are entirely empty. Perhaps it was a rehearsal for homecoming?

It's the post-game show. The homecoming post-game show is always awesome, but it does tend to clear out on the student side. I think most who do stay come over to the the other side. However, with how the game went last year I think some may have just left...
